Celebrate the partial and non Natives, they celebrate you!

An elder who is a friend was talking to Matt last night about a talk he did on misconceptions about Native Americans. There are tons, and the sad part is many of the misconceptions and sadly, prejudices, come from Native Americans themselves.

The most glaring thing recently is that Johnny Depp is playing Tonto in a Lone Ranger movie. First, it is probably clear to most people that Depp is one of (if not THE), best actors out there today. His persona changes to that character. He brings that character to life. If I were a movie maker I would certainly want Depp in my movie.

Depp has promised to play Tonto in a new light. He is playing him as the brains of the pair who keeps the lone Ranger out of trouble all the time. I think that is awesome, and will be quite entertaining. It will be the Lone Ranger that we are laughing at, not Tonto.

All good things. Good things for Native America too. Yet, there always has to be a bunch of Native Americans who want a Native American person to be doing things.. Now I can see their point, many westerns were made in the old days with non Native actors. Not all westerns were made with Non Natives. Many of the Natives galloping over the desert were in fact Natives. They weren't always the right tribe (Shoshone played Navajos, etc), but they were Natives.

Today people want a Native to play the Tonto part. I can think of only one person that could play that part. Adam Beach. The handsome and talented man who played in Codetalkers. Now I don't know if the locals would even accept Beach, he is Canadian, and that is how silly all this is. Maybe they even asked Beach, who knows.....because I can picture studios asking NA actors to play Tonto, and those actors saying "no" becasue Tonto was a side kick who didn't say much. He was the second banana. Tonto was a joke to Native America, who wants to play a joke...well apparently now that Depp is, everyone wants the part to go to a NA actor.

Depp took the part and is going to make Tonto NOT be a second banana, and he has the clout to do it. Where Hollywood may say "no" to a no name actor (and I am NOT talking about Beach here), they know Depp has the brains to make it work, and work well. Depp has the part, and will no doubt do an awesome job, but here is the kicker. Depp IS part Native American. He doesn't have all the background information, and many do not. People who live on a reservation find it unfathomable that one would not know their entire family history. Actually it is quite easy. Many have no records, maybe there were no records to begin with, and many were destroyed. Families were separated. My tribes took each other prisoner all the time, that is why we are so mixed with so many tribes. I know for sure of two tribes in my blood, and I am told there can be as many as eight! The records were mostly kept by the BIA, there WAS NO BIA when my tribes were assimilated in to the main stream. There was no United States! There was just a bunch of colonies, and prior to that, nothing.

It isn't easy for every Native American to know their ancestry. Depp is an example. I had a hard time because the blood is on my father's side and my Mom divorced him before I was born. She moved several states away, so my contact was minimal and when I was small. Three year olds usually don't get handed a list of family run downs, even if they do have them....

Native America is many times its' own worse enemy. There are enough problems without saying Depp isn't Indian enough to play the part. Get over it!! There are many proud Native Americans who do much for Native America that are not full blood, that are blonde, red heads, and have blue eyes. There are many that are not "carded", nor can recite their entire family history back to the 1400's and beyond. Yet what is in their hearts is love, family, promotion of the Native American ways, and dedication to the beliefs. More than what many "official" Native Americans are doing these days.

The amount of Haters out there in the world is ridiculous. They think they can dictate who can do things, who can be places and who join groups, based on their blood. BULL. They cannot. These are jealous, hateful people. They are people who plot, bully, and spout off at the mouth nonsense. It is what is in your heart. I have said it before and I will say it again, there are some people I know without a drop of Native blood that are more honoring to the Native ways, more dedicated , than people with Native blood. They are even more honorable, becasue they choose a path that will be difficult to walk. To disgrace them is disgusting. When they are doing things the right way (and not "your" right way , but THE right way), NO ONE but Creator has a say. You honor them, you thank them.

I come from the east coast where we met the white man hundreds of years before the Plains and Southwest tribes. We are much more friendly with each other and those who adopted our ways. I guess some others have a few hundred years more learning to do. They have centuries of Spiritual growth to do!

Embrace Depp, who is a Native, and all those who are part Native and celebrate the Native ways. They are part of the good in the world, not part of the bad, and if you have a problem with it, then YOU are the problem, not them. Don't be a Hater, don't be prejudicial!Don't be judgmental! Don't be Egotistical! NONE of that is condoned by Creator!

How did you get all those EVPs??

Someone asked me yesterday how I got so many EVPs from Villisca. I think it was mostly Villisca itself, not me for the most part, but there are ways that will get you more EVPs.

First of all, being psychic helps. The spirits see a bright light around psychics and mediums, a little neon "open" sign, so they come to communicate. Psychics receive their messages differently than mediums do ,but the messages still come through. So, I guess I have a little advantage right off the bat, but that doesn't mean non psychics don't get EVPs , they do!

The key is to talk to spirits as if they are a live human standing in front of you. If you were trying to talk to someone, would you whisper, cut them off before they answer, be carrying on a conversation with someone else at the same time, be confrontational just because they are not answering? No, of course not, yet people do that all the time while gathering EVPs.

It should be quiet. VERY quiet. There should only be one or two people asking questions and they should stay on topic. Speak up, in a normal voice, not only so they can hear you, but so that later your whisper isn't confused as an EVP. Many times it takes tremendous effort to answer us. Some spirits are able to use energy from us or our equipment to answer us, but that sometimes takes time. Sometimes it may take 20-30 seconds for them to answer. It may have to travel over a few dimensions to get to you. Give long , quiet pauses in between.

When you hear a voice with your ears, it technically isn't an EVP, note when you hear things live, so that you can differentiate them later. A spirit you can hear is a powerful one.

Mark noises that may be misinterpreted as an EVP. If you knock something over and it thumps, note it. When you are moving to a new location on a squeaky floor, say "walking", if you aren't making noise, just comment "moving to the living room", you don't have to note every step, camera beep and sneeze. You do have to note thumps, creaks, bangs, sighs, and if you forget...whispers.

Don't be confrontational unless the spirit is. How would you like someone coming in to "your house" and screaming "talk to me now!". That is when I would clam up except maybe for a "get out".

Leave your recorder running. I have an EVP from between the house and barn at Villisca. Spirits are always talking, not just when we turn on our recorders. I have a class A from Villisca when we stopped for a minute becasue kids were outside climbing on the clothesline poles, if I would have shut off my recorder I would have missed an awesome EVP!  The new recorders have digital files that go on forever, it is not like the old days when you would run out of tape, so keep it rolling!

Spirits can lie in death , just like in life. They can be nasty, hateful, and they can also be helpful. You have to treat EVPs as if you are talking to a live human. Keep conjecture out of your questions. Don't ask something like "You killed Mary becasue you hated her and she was wearing Donna's dress, right?" Just ask "Why did you kill Mary?". People like to "play psychics", PLEASE leave the psychic conjecture to the professional psychics and mediums. We not only can pick up on the message that is being sent, but also if the spirit is indeed who they say they are , and if they are being truthful.

Many of my clearest EVPs have been when I wasn't questioning. I was just being in the space and investigating. It is then that spirits strike up a conversation or you catch residual EVPs.
Try to build a rapport with the spirits. You want them to like you. When you are noisy, annoying, confrontational, disruptive, they will simply go and hide in the basement .

Don't talk in other voices. Don't talk "baby talk" or make silly noises just becasue there are child spirits in the room. They can be mistaken for EVPs of children later on. Talk in YOUR normal voice so when the recording is listened to, it is clear that it is YOU and not a spirit!

Then there is the techno side. Buy the best recorder that you can afford. I recently bought one that is a little higher end, and I can hear SO much more that maybe was there before, but I couldn't hear it. It is clear, sharp, and loud enough to make out what is being said. My first recorder cost $30, this one was $60, and it is more than twice the quality.  Well worth every penny.  Don't use things like cell phones, they won't pick up much, heck you sometimes can barely  hear your friend you are calling well, you want to hear spirits 3 dimensions and 4 decibel levels away?

Have software to check your EVPs, this way you can isolate them, slow down some speedy spirit voices so you can understand them, and see by sound waves that the voice is a team member whispering, not an EVP.

Try to eliminate as much outside noise as you can, or at least note it. This isn't always possible, but when you can , do it. Don't have 4 different meters with you going off near the recorder, they can drown out the sound of the EVP and drive people crazy. They are there to get your attention to start EVPs, take pictures, or ask for movement, not to listen to. They are also NOT to be used as communication devices. I don't care what the TV shows do, they are NOT reliable as communication devices, nor is that what they are designed for. There are many reasons for it, but let's say for example I am a child ghost, one who is a bit of a prankster. You ask if I am Mr Smith who owned the house, and I pass my child hand near your meter to make it beep. You think you are "talking" to Mr Smith and you are doing nothing of the sort.

Test all equipment BEFORE entering the location. Make sure the batteries are fresh (if they are almost dead, replace them before starting). The spirits aren't going to repeat something just because your batteries died. Make sure that you are familiar with your equipment, and that you have fresh batteries. Have a SMALL flashlight with you if you need it to see the buttons on your equipment. Try to be familiar with it so that you can operate it without the flashlight.

When equipment fails, step away and fix it, or replace it. I have a back up recorder, batteries, and flashlight with me at all times. Also extra anything....food, water, blankets, etc. Act as if you are going camping, many times you actually are.

DON'T practice getting EVPs in your home. You become a radio station that all the spirits want to be on. They will start to wake you at 2 AM to chat. This can be cool once or twice, but when it starts happening all the time, you won't think it so cool. Your attention to them can attract more into your home. Before you know it, it will be crowded in there. I have seen three instances of hauntings becoming a problem because someone wanted to play with EVPs all the time.

Be safe, be careful and be respectful. The spirits can hurt you, not badly, but enough to get your attention. Don't go into their "home" and upset them. It is not fair to them, and can get you in trouble. It can also get you hours of blank recordings.

Enjoy your EVPs!

Walking your path

Most days for me,  are spent helping people not "find" their path, but to walk it. Walking your path is one of those things that is never simple, yet it is easy. When you walk the path that you are intended to walk, then the journey is facilitated by the Universe.

When you try to walk another person's path, it is more difficult, not necessarily impossible, but more difficult. We have a soul group to walk our path with , and that is plenty of people to keep us company.

The hard part comes in when we have interference from others. Sometimes they think they know how we should walk the path better than we do (when you aren't having issues, they DON'T know). They may try to pull us onto their path, or jump on yours, for many reasons. The key is to stay true to your path. Your path will have friends, family, and opportunities on it that are not troublesome, forced, or difficult.

When people get angry and upset with your path (and again if that path is working well for you), then that is their problem, not yours. The anger and frustration usually evolves out of jealousy and discontent with their lives, not yours!  People don't realize that as long as you are doing something the best way, where you are hurting no one, including yourself, then they need to allow you your differences.

Many times when things are ugly it is because there is a person (usually a miserable, jealous one), who is trying to pull you backwards, or step in front of you on your path. Never allow people who do not have YOUR best interest in mind to alter your path. Many clients have people that try to make them do it their way, or include them when they have no business even asking to be included! You EARN respect, your EARN friendship, you EARN recognition, you don't just demand to be on someone's path or bully yourself onto it and start changing things.

Defend your path, and again this is after making sure you are walking a healthy one for you and all of those around you. Then walk it with your head held high , and defend it to any who try to dissuade you from walking it.

When people are upset that they aren't on your path, that is their issue that they need to deal with, not yours.

Meanwhile.....do unto others.

High School in the "adult world"

All weekend clients were telling me about escapades that sound like they are straight out of high school. I don't know if it is these "over the top" reality shows where people act up and act out, or what, but there seems to be a total lack of manners, decorum, and common courtesy in the world today.

From people finding out that others have broken up with them on Facebook, to people having a "BASH so and so Party" ( people having a party and not inviting a friend so they can talk about her, and plot against her), to a made up page about someone on Myspace (that resulted in a lawsuit and involved a great loss of money and a few days of community service to the perpetrator).

Why do people act so high school?

Want to break up with someone? Go see them and tell them. If they are a violent person, at least call them. Breaking up by text and social networking is pathetic. You were interested enough to begin the relationship , be courteous enough to break it off in a polite manner. They also don't need their friends to know before they do! This is beyond mean and cowardly.

Having a "Bash party"? Really? How childish are you ????...not to mention KARMA. You have a problem with the way a person is running a group, talk to THEM about it (how many blogs have I written about talking directly to the person you have an issue with???) There are THREE sides to every story, and not giving the person the opportunity to talk is beyond unfair to rude and immature. Afraid they may negate your premise and ruin your nasty little party? Probably. Talk TO the person, not about them. It will always, always backfire on you.

Making up a page online? Not only is that a hateful and horrible thing to do, but it is illegal. The law is cracking down on internet fraud, bullying and slander. It is a childish high school prank at its' best, and a crime at its' worst, don't do it.

Someone asked where all these idiots are finding nasty people to gather with. They said it is like the Universe is making it harder for good will, peace and love on this planet because the problem people seem to be gathering together.

People are gathering into groups. The "like attracts like" interaction is very strong this year. That not only means that you will find others who will help you do good in the world, but it also means the jerks of the world will gather together and be more troublesome. Cowards always need to be in groups to act. It has been that way since the beginning of time, so that is why we are seeing more groups of people acting like they are two years old.

Do unto others....it works well when you are making a decision about what to do. Would you like someone to break up with you on a social networking site? Would you like a bunch of folks to have a party to talk about your behind your back? Would you like someone making a parody of you on a social networking site page? The answer is" No" to all of those, so don't do it to others. It is beyond rude, disrespectful and impolite to illegal, hateful, and childish.

I felt like I was listening to problems from teenagers all weekends, and these were people from their 30's, 40's and 50's...one was even 60 plus! Sixty is way to old to be a miserable hateful jerk.

Do unto others, and if you have screwed up , go and ask for forgiveness. Address any issues directly with the person you are having issues with, no one else, and certainly NOT on a social networking site.

To all my clients persecutors...GROW UP!

Let's see who can have an adult week.

The Bigger picture. Homework.

People get lost in little upsets everyday. Some make a career out of it. They CHOOSE to get lost in them. They read the net, they listen to the radio, they hear friends speak, and find something that triggers them. Usually it is something that has been sensationalized (what would happen to newspapers, TV and radio if nothing happened today???), or is a flat out hoax or even mud slinging. They buy into it 100% and they are off and running.

Yes we need to support and take care of things, but we need to do it in OUR backyard first. We need to get our house in order, to get our lives to a happy place before stressing out about anything happening 1000 miles away. Once our house is in order, there are lots of local groups and charities that can use your help. There are groups that help women, the elderly, the hungry, the homeless...all of them desperately need your time and money. Instead of creating negativity (something we need a little less of in this world), by going on about a little thing , far far away, concentrate on the big things right in front of your nose.

Friday homework is back, and your homework is to NOT spread internet crap all weekend (and preferable beyond), and to locate and in some way participate (donate time, money, advise), to a local group that needs your help.Unless you are going to get up and travel to there the issue is and DO something constructive about it...don't pass it on. Needless to say, if it isn't true, NEVER pass it on!

It is so simple and so difficult for people at the same time.

Who can do it?

Dreams

Today I want to talk about dreams. Many times people have dreams (usually about someone they WANT to dream about), and they think they are being sent a message. They come up with all kinds of reasons WHY it "is" a message, and want to know what the message means. It is impossible for me to interpret something that isn't a message. Some accept the fact that it was not a message after all, and some just flat out won't believe it.

It is true that the easiest way for us to obtain messages is just as we are falling asleep. It is when the mind naturally goes into the brain wave function that psychics go into on purpose to get messages while awake. However, these flashes are not "dreams", and every dream is not a message. Over 98% of them are simply your subconscious "taking out the trash". It needs to do that, and do it rather frequently, or we would all literally go mad. The other 2% is usually your mind trying to remind you of something you forgot, to jog your memory.

Sometimes our subconscious wants us to stop waiting for the ex, so it parades him/ out so we can work through whatever we need to in that dream, then dispose of him/her. Many mistakenly take it as a "message from him/her". First it would take a very learned, trained and naturally powerful person to send that type of energy. I doubt you ex has the ability. Unless you are one powerful psychic , you aren't "picking up on their energy" either. That takes a pretty strong natural ability, and if you had it, you most likely wouldn't use the dream state to get it.

Most of the time, dreams are our own thoughts and feelings, not someone's that we wish we would hear from. Messages when we fall asleep are quick phrases of words, not an episode a half hour long from the Oxygen channel. Conversations with guides are brief and to the point. Things are not acted out, but communicated. When you are rolling around on the beach with an ex, that isn't a message from him, that is a dream of yours.

Message dreams are also very real in that things do not "morph" into other things, or have drastic changes in time or place. They flow smoothly and consistently, yet they are very different than reality. They have a literal brightness to them, a clarity, and rarely does the message come from a live human. It usually comes from guides or those who have passed.

Please do not be fooled by dreams, or by people that will tell you that this person is your "soulmate" (Oh how I would love to strangle the person who came up with romantic soulmates and twin flames!). This is your mind trying to let go of something, to have one final fling and good bye, to work out a scenario that you always wanted to work out.

When you are supposed to be with someone, you will. There will be no difficulties, no drama, no refusal, no husband or wife attached to your so called soulmate (no matter how unhappy they profess to be). That is a whole other lesson for another day.

In the meantime, dreams are just that, dreams. We can find meaning to them psychologically, as your subconscious frequently deals in archetypes, but dreams are not messages from the ex. Don't allow an ex to hold you back, move forward and find a real partner and true happiness!!

Discernment

Many times this week I have told clients to use discernment. They have wasted so much time waiting for a person to do the right thing, to act, to shape up, or to even return a phone call. Anyone can speak flowery words and say nice things, but the truth of the person comes out in their actions. We have to gauge them by what they do (or don't do). There is also a need to hold back a bit, slow down. People trust others right away because of words, what they say they do for a living, or what they say they believe in. See it before you believe it, especially if it is important to you.

I hear every day about internet relationships of people who have never met spouting "I love yous" . Really? Seriously? How is that possible? It isn't. These people come on strong and then never show for the first date. They have either a fear of closeness and intimacy or they are married and the wife won't let them out of the house.....use discernment.

Use it also with people you know and meet. Just because someone is in a metaphysical group, yoga class, or church group, doesn't make them a good person! They can spout Dyer, Jesus and the Tao, and yet can't live one word of it. They hug everyone, and treat every other person like crap. They have an Ego the size of Asia, which is a sure sign of a non spiritual person.

You do not have to be everyone's friend. You do not have to love everyone. God/Creator/The Universe gave you something many creatures don't have, the ability to think critically and logically. You can tell when someone is treating you right. Use that ability you were given and be discerning. You can still be polite, without buying into a person's BS. You can talk to them about it, call them out, and still be OK. It isn't a bad thing to do. Just be honest about it.

I have seen people who call themselves "spiritual", do THE most spiteful, dishonest things. From telling lies to breaking the law. From ripping people off to treating them like a dog. These aren't spiritual people. They are fakes, even to themselves. Use that discernment that you were given and use it wisely!

What are real psychics like?

A client asked, what real psychics are like," you know, as people"?

The answer, is "like everyone else, but they seem a little luckier"....when you meet us, the professional psychics, the ones that only work in the metaphysical world. The sane ones. The "educated to the ways of what should be", psychics, you will see far from the stereotype. You won't have a clue as to what we do for a living.

When you see drama, ego, and flamboyance. When you see a need for attention, a lot of talk, and a desire to always "butt in" and give "information". You aren't seeing genuine. Most people don't have a clue as to what I do all day. I do around 30-40 readings every day; drop things on a dime if someone needs help like a cleansing; teach metaphysical classes; send out reiki for healing/ give reiki treatments; learn all I can from experts and new information that gets put out there. I also frequently "hunt ghosts"; participate in a pow wow drum; teach tai chi.

I don't put up a neon sign saying "look at me". That is the LAST thing true psychics do. They know that helping is to be done the right way, not for attention or accolades. They know that perpetuating a stereotype is harmful to us all and is what makes people NOT believe. We walk around like ordinary people, living ordinary lives. We just get more insider info than the average person, and hopefully we listen (I don't always listen and suffer for it every time).

We don't dress in hoop earrings and gypsy style clothing; we don't make comments on social networking sites like "I feel there is an earthquake coming"; we don't make comments "after the fact" that cannot be verified, just to talk and get attention; we don't act all spacey or all holy. We don't have pictures of ourselves all looking spacey or Stevie Nicks (know what I mean, the "pretty witch" look???). We are ordinary people with a little bit bigger antenna than others. Everyone has the antenna, but when people try to play psychic, it makes us nuts. We try so hard to be respectable and act sane, and just when we are starting to be believed and trusted, some idiot rips people off by telling them they have a black cloud that needs to be removed or starts spouting information that they know can't be verified to get attention. They give out "free info" that isn't asked for that no one can say is not true, just to get attention.

True psychics NEVER seek attention. It is something we are NOT supposed to do. We are supposed to help. Some help on a level of a John Edwards or Sylvia Browne, and that is OK, they are trying to reach a wide audience, they don't do it for the attention. People who do it for attention are usually ones who aren't getting any because they aren't good and because they are having issues in life, usually including money and relationships. Karma gets them sooner or later.

Psychic information should be passed in private. Not on website or social networking site, that is simply saying "look at me". When you have a message for someone, call them, email them, knock on their door, don't post it on Facebook or tweet it.

The people who are good at what they do and live life according to the messages they get have a stable life. Their bills get paid, they are happy, generally healthy, and don't have relationship drama. When someone has a mess of a life, don't go to them for psychic or spiritual advice. They are the LAST person you should go to. They can't even hear to their guides they are going to be able to talk to yours?

Doing psychic work is a challenge. It is work filled with protecting oneself energetically, emotionally, and spiritually. There is a lot to it, you don't just pass on things that pop into your head. The things that enter there can be your own thoughts, ego, or "forgotten info". They can be misleading or harmful messages passed from several sources, including mischievous spirits. You need to know what you are doing. I tell people when they are wrong, it may hurt their feelings, but hopefully it will teach them something. There is a long list of psychic ethics that most people who spout things off don't even know exists.

Then there are the genuinely crazy people. They hear voices alright. Voices that can be quieted by the right meds. They think it is all authentic, and it isn't. There are ways to verify , and protect oneself.

True psychics will also know a psychic or medium when they meet them (and it does NOT have to be in person). I can tell BS a mile away, and there is a TON of BS out there. I don't tolerate BS for a second either.

True energy workers take classes from certified and authentic people. They do the work (and the homework so to speak). They always strive to learn in a formal way or an informal way.  I have several real psychic friends on Facebook. I NEVER see them "give information" on postings on anyone's page. They are authentic. Authentic in this "job" means you NEVER look for attention. A couple of us have graduated from one of only two institutions that exist (who are accredited), that give degrees in the metaphysical. Both insist on a ministerial degree first, and one on a degree in any other subject first (mine is a BA in psychology). Someday(hopefully), this will be something that many colleges offer.

So dear client, we are like anyone else, but more and more these days we are surrounded by "wanna be s",  "think I am s" and pure crazy people. Psychics have become popular, and now everyone wants to be one. I was one when I was born, and it sure wasn't "cool" , after decades of doing readings for people, at least I now can do ONLY metaphysical work, and for that I am truly grateful to the Universe. It took me a long time, but I found my place in the world, and with a husband and friends that accept me and trust me. We live, laugh, cry, share, play, help, and most of all TEACH.

Be authentic, be trained, and DO THE RIGHT THINGS FOR THE RIGHT REASONS!!

Villisca Axe Murder House

Some SIPI members made the trek to Iowa on Friday to the site of a brutal multiple murder. The Villisca Axe Murder House. It lived up to its' reputation, and then some. It is so refreshing to be able to go to a place that is authentic, haunted, and active. I know they are around, but this is the best one I have found so far besides Waverly.

Waverly, because of its size, missing windows, and cement floors has its own challenges, so Villisca was easier on the feet and legs. It is also a place where you can more easily see how it was back in the day as the building is intact and there are furnishings to represent that era.

The hardest part about Villisca was the 8 hour ride, but good company made even that pleasurable. If you go, make sure that you bring blankets in cold weather, there is no heat, and no power in the main house. The town is small and doesn't have much in the way of amenities, but there is a grocery store and cafe. Don't go with a small group or just women, there are groups of teenagers that cause issues (we had 5 drunken ones climbing on the clothesline posts outside and making threats). It is not a place for those who are timid, and probably not so good for first timers, but it IS haunted, as my daughter would say...Uberhaunted!

That said, here it is in a nutshell...I have 23 EVPs in only an hour and a half of recording so far, I still have 4 sessions to listen to. There is a man , woman and little girl on those EVPs. There were many different kinds of light anomalies, including 4 people seeing something we have never seen before, a black orb. There were shadows, thumps, and even a time when the house and outside barn shook after a huge thump. There was a person scratched, one had a blanket lifted off of her, and many were touched, most were touched several times. I got a lot of valuable little snippets of psychic information. Working as a professional psychic has its fun times, and this was one of them! There were several objects that were moved (and moved quite a bit), while we were there. There was also that wonderful icky feeling at times. You could feel the energy thrumming through that house.

We were told that the attic was the place where some bad stuff was, it did feel VERY spooky, but everyone took turns going in , even the folks who were on their first ghost hunt. One gal did get scratched right outside the attic, and another had a blanket lifted off of her in the same place. It was certainly one of the hotspots.

We are still in the "reviewing" stage of our evidence, but there are several unexplainable photos, many EVPs and everyone had at least one personal experience. Others included one person having his voice mimicked , and my name being called out loud (at first we thought it may be on a ghost box, but it was not, it was said out loud and I have it on my recorder).

My favorite EVP so far is a voice saying to a man in the group "don't like you". There are some great EVPs and I can't wait to see what I find today.

It is certainly a place to seriously investigate, not a place to "play" at ghost hunting. That house could certainly "hurt" you. Thanks to all the brave gals and guys who make the trek!

Happy Ghost Hunting!!

The other stuff out there.

People know of things like God, angels, demons, and maybe guides. They think that is the spectrum of what lives in that non visible world. In fact that is just scraping the surface. There is much more, good and "bad" out there. There is also a HUGE difference between "bad" and "Evil".

Much of my life has been spent knowing things, seeing things, especially when I was younger. I had to force the door closed a bit and set up boundaries, as after a while it gets to be problematic. Yet, I have seen and "met" energies from other dimensions. It sounds all very Star Trek, but it isn't at all.

The most known besides angels and demons, is guides. Many people in the last few years have met their guides and use them for help when they are in situations in life that are difficult. We each have at least one, and it is a person who lived many lifetimes on this earth. They have experienced every human emotion, situation, and struggle. They were male, female, African American , European, Native American, and every other culture you can think of. They come to you with vast knowledge.

There are other positive beings as well, they are helpers, runners, and animal spirits to name a few. All have a job, a purpose, and using them for those jobs makes your life easier. They are all ready and willing to help. They help in many ways from making difficult tasks easier, to helping you exhibit energy that will enable you to succeed.

The opposite side of the spectrum is more limited. There is a little more good in the world, at least there is supposed to be, to balance it out, the Law of Polarity demands it. That being said, there are not a bunch of demons hiding around every corner to attack you. When you have repeated "demon experiences" and you are not a Vatican Exorcist, seek medical / psychological attention. Seriously.

There are spirits who are "bad". They were horrible people in life (think of souls like Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, child molesters, crazy people, murderers and rapists), they are still horrible people in death. People do not become peaceful, and good unless they cross all the way over. When they don't , they are still the evil jerk they were without a body. When they are smart enough, or have been in that energy long enough, they can move things, and create actions in this dimension. So they can throw stones, scratch, harm, hurt. Just becasue something hurts you, doesn't make it a demon, it makes it a person who was a harmful evil jerk in life, who is he same in death. I am not sure where all the demon crap popularity came from, but I blame Ryan Buell and Paranormal State. Zak Bagans went through a "demon period" but thank goodness seems to be coming out of it. The odds of encountering a demon are ridiculous. A billion to one would probably be giving way too much credit to the demons.....

There are also beings who are originally from other dimensions, and they are , by our standards half mad (as in insane), ugly, half formed things with little power or intelligence. They look like a mixture of real and imagined animals and creatures, some with human features. They aren't demons either, although if you see one, I am sure that thought will come automatically into your head. Some of these are also capable of manipulating energy in this world, although their main power is in their hideous appearance.

There are black shadow people. There are three kinds of BSP, and none of them are demons. Being black, we associate them with darkness and evil. They are nothing of the kind. Their strong energy can overtake us, make us feel ill, and even do things we wouldn't normally do. They cannot manipulate our world for whatever reason, but they sure can make you feel bad and startle the crap out of you, but they aren't Evil.

One type of BSP is a spirit who is trying to manifest and cannot get up enough energy to appear as they did in life. A second group seems to be studying us as much as we do them. They never speak, they just watch. A third are very fast moving beings who center around haunted sites. From what I gather from my research and experience they are protectors of the dead. Maybe even pyschopomps. They are certainly beings on a mission and are of all kinds of shapes and sizes. All kinds of BSP can move through solid objects, defy gravity, and morph into other shapes.

There are orbs, balls of energy that zip around. No one is exactly sure what they are as they do not communicate with us. Theories go from spirits in a certain state, to mass transit for many souls to move together at once. I am sure that someday we will know for sure.

I wrote of psychopomps. They are beings who help gather up lost souls and try to get them to cross over. The herd the dead , to be blunt. Sometimes part of the herd gets away, they won't chase you down, you still have free will in death.

There are also Ascended Masters, Master teachers, Nature Spirits, Constructs, Elementals and the Godhead. There is a lot out there. There is no reason to fear it. The good ALWAYS out powers the bad, God/Creator/The Universe is ALWAYS in charge. The only way to be taken over by a demon is to somehow welcome them in. ALWAYS. Some people do it unknowingly through drugs, alcohol, or mental illness. Some do it through dabbling in the black arts. Some are physical mediums and can be overtaken, but most physical mediums have many protection "firewalls" set up to keep that from happening. It is always a door you have to open first!

So when a place feels creepy, makes you feel ill, or you get scratched or harmed in some way, it doesn't mean there is a demon inside. Many spirits will use "demon" tactics to scare you away as they want to be left alone. They easily fool the inexperienced.

Christopher Penczak puts is clearly " I do believe in harmful fores in the Universe. I believe in a need for protection and awareness. I believe in entities who have fallen away from any connection with life and the creative force. Evil exists, but evil comes from fear and anger, the absence of love and forgiveness...they play off our own fear and images of evil...Spirits appear as devils, demons and other nightmarish creatures. They play on our movie mythology and horror novels. Demons come from disenchanted spirits seeking a power they never had. They do not force you into harm unless you choose it. Do not give them that much credit. "

Use common sense, and use protection, spirits can attach to you , go home with you and make your life a living hell of no sleep and hidden car keys. When you think spirits are cute or entertaining in your home, you will soon find that they become stronger and start to take over.

Be mindful and careful of situations that you enter into. Be also VERY mindful of people who claim to have demon fights every day. Be safe, smart, and always stay in the white light of protection.

Happy  hunting!

Challenge yourself

Part of building energy and personal growth always includes challenging yourself. You can't grow if you do, say, and think the same thing every day for 20 years. That is how you stagnate. Sometimes people go to the extreme (and we know extremes are NOT what it is all about), to that "no pain, no gain" mentality. There is plenty gain without pain, even in the physical world.

The key is as with anything, moderation. The only this extremes do (whether it is stagnating or going overboard) is harm.

You do need to challenge yourself. I remember a running coach telling me, "run an extra 10 yards, but not an extra mile, there is no need to damage yourself trying to build yourself up.It makes no sense."  Don't take on more than you can handle. Even one step more on a run, is an improvement. A mile more may mean shin , ankle, knee, and hip problems, plus a host of other issues. I used to run in Henderson, Nevada. A few times I saw someone running just ahead of me. He was a short man, but built like a bull. He took his time, he kept perfect form, and never pushed too hard. One day I got a look at the front of him, it was Iron Mike Tyson. People who are pros know that excess is bad, period.

Excess is bad in anything, you know it already. Excess leads to words like "addict" and "workaholic" Yet the issue usually isn't overdoing in our society, it is underachieving, or not even trying. The idea is to challenge yourself, but don't confuse the word challenge with "excess". Learn something new. Open up to another person's viewpoint. Look for truth, research, and scrutinize things so that you easily recognize issues, lies, hoaxes and problems right off the bat. Don't follow the "company line" or the "party line", THINK for yourself. God/ Creator/ the Universe gave you a brain, use it. Never allow anyone to tell you what to think or believe.

Learn so that your life will be easier. Learn from other people's mistakes so you don't have to live through them yourself. Take on the challenge before it takes you on! I write the blog for my students and my clients, people who want growth. They love it. People who don't want growth, who are stuck in old ideas and ways, won't like it. I really am not concerned with them, I am joyous in the people who want to learn and grow. The old adage "you can lead a horse to water" is certainly true!

It doesn't matter what you want to take on. It can be physical (which I have done from 20 some years of dancing to running and kick boxing), to education (I have several degrees, and read multiple books a day), to experiences (traveling to new places, learning a new skill, reading, taking a class, joining a group of people, volunteering). I have been in car clubs, quilt classes, dance groups, and more. Expand. Grow!

Go where there are people with different ways of doing things, You don't have to leave the country to do that. There are places in this country where people think, and live their day differently than you do. I can guarantee that from having visited thirty six of the fifty states, and living in five of them, including three regions of the US. I lived int he hustle and bustle of the east coast, the carefree attitude of Las Vegas, and the west just off Native land on the Checkerboard Reservation. When I went to town, I looked like the minority, little did they know....But I learned so much from people there who shared their culture. Navajo, Hopi, Apache and Pueblo people. All wonderful souls more than ready to share stories, ways, and culture.

Expose yourself to new experiences, thoughts/ideas, activities. Start the easy way, a book from Amazon.com (you can buy used books for as little as a penny and download many for free). Join a group, take classes/lessons. Go to a day activity you haven't tried before. Many parks, towns, and organizations try to expose people to new ways.

Every time we go to Sedona we make sure we hike a new trail. There are hundreds in the area, so it is an easy thing to do. We have hiked up high, down low, through water, through desert, in wilderness areas, and on well groomed trails.I have fallen in a snow runoff creek (not fun), and Matt has learned all about thin air at high altitude the hard way. In New York we hiked 5 miles up a difficult trail (stepping over boulders all the way), and then 5 miles back down (which really wasn't any easier). The next days hike was on flat land and it was short, but we did it (after a night of rubbing oil into sore muscles).

There is a wonderful sense of accomplishment when you take on a task and achieve it. Start small so you don't self disappoint. Start with beginner's books and classes, work your way up, and if pain is ever involved...stop. You don't want to take on too much so you don't think "this is hard". You should think" this is Fun, exciting, interesting, challenging..."

The only time I ever had pain in over 20 years of dance, running, or kick boxing is when we had teacher's goof (one kick boxing class we were doing squats and were told to keep going...the teacher stopped to talk to another teacher about classroom use. We kept going. We couldn't walk the next day, she apologized).  Challenge yourself, does not mean "hurt yourself", it really does NOT, you will CAUSE problems instead of bypassing them. I have never had damaged muscles, shin splints, sprains, broken bones...there is no reason for any of that. Pain is your body's way of telling you "THERE IS A PROBLEM HERE", that is why we have pain. Listen to your body, respect it, and work WITH it.

So take a moment and stop and think what your challenge will be today, and if you are already struggling, or God forbid in pain, then take a totally NEW direction for your next challenge!

You can do it!

Getting ready for Villisca

First, this cold from Hell better exit my life REAL quick. It is becoming annoying to say the least. I don't feel bad necessarily, just frustrated. Kleenex is making a killing on me and so is Hall's, so at least I am boosting the economy. I want to be better for an all night investigation at the Villisca House.

This house is a place where a family and some family friends (who were children), were killed by an axe murderer after returning from a church function. It has documented activity and is a place that has become famous on the list of haunted houses in the US.

I like authentic. Earlier this year we went to a place that although haunted, had a bunch of strange spirits passing through that had nothing to do with the house. When you can connect with spirits who historically were part of the landscape, that is an awesome thing.

One friend asked if I were OK with going to a place that had child spirits...not a problem. They died about 100 years ago. They choose to be there for whatever reason. They most likely are not experiencing their death state. They may still be having that party with friends over. I have bumped into MANY child spirits over the years, none of them were unhappy in their place of existence.  Most spirits aren't . We have free will and all our cognitive abilities after death. many choose to stay in the" in between" state. That may not be where you would want to be, but that doesn't mean they aren't where they want to be.

People can also cross back and forth, so do not assume that these spirits are "stuck" in any way. They may just enjoy visitors and go to the house each night like they are going to work.

I also informed this person that in my line of work, I can't say..."well I won't do any work for you if there are children involved". I guess growing up this way (psychic), has put me in a state of mind where I am used to it. These spirits are rarely not at peace. The problem is we try to fit our idea of happiness into their existence, and WE get stuck.

So off we shall go , and hopefully be able to have some experiences.

So to my cold...I banish you! and so it shall be!

Have an awesome day all!

PS: A reader wrote about yesterday's blog, and told me that someone had disrespected police officers that was on our drum. That won't happen again. I can't stop people from being disrespectful, but I can stop them from being on the drum. The drum respects and honors all vets and ALL first responders. Period. We spent almost a year now helping a friend who is a police officer who was flooded out of his home. No one will disrespect that man where I can see and hear it. I have family who were police officers and friends who are current and are retired police officers. I will not tolerate that type of attitude around the drum.

What do you stand for???

There is one important thing in life. Energetically, and in the mundane sense. Know who you are and what you stand for. It is pretty simple, but there are a few people out there, who just can't manage to do it.

I know people who rant and rave about how bad something is one day and promote it the next. They get caught up in pithy postings on social networking sites, and post them because they think they are cute, funny, political, or make them look like they have a strong stand on something. The next day, the opposite is posted. All they look is confused.

There are people who post, blog, say a million things about being of a certain belief, background or culture, and yet they really don't have a clue if they really are. They don't know their ancestry, yet they claim one. I know a person who strongly advocates for a certain background and poses as being from that background, yet is adopted and doesn't know what his background is at all. It is OK to support a group, but don't pretend to be one .

It is amazing that there are people out there who jump on any bandwagon, grab any new idea, adopt any slogan, devour any hyped up hoax out there, even if they all contradict each other. I can understand not being the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree, Barnum told us there was a sucker born every minute. But HOW can you not know what you stand for? Maybe they do know and are just trying to look "cool" to all the groups.

Do you know what that does energetically? It makes a serious swirl of pure mess. People wonder why their lives are so dramatic, changeable, and chaotic. They create it. You can't live a life of pro choice and protest health care that includes birth control. You can't be pro "pot" and against drugs on Indian reservations. Two things diametrically opposed cannot exist in the same space. This creates energetic confusion, drama, and chaos.

From the Greek Suda, "know thyself". There is no reason to make a mess of your life, or to look hypocritical. It is good to know what you believe in and give energy to that in a healthy way. It makes you more productive, positive, and focused.

If you don't know what you stand for, you stand for nothing.

(A little side not on a similar subject we frequently discuss. There are hoaxes that go around in email and social networking sites all the time. The most recent is a story about baby Lylah Rose that makes absolutely no sense. There is no reason to pass stuff like this around in the first place. May times with hoaxes, it is a photo of someone's child who had nothing to do with any of it. Think of the parent of that child. Check it out before passing it on!)
