So what about suicides crossing over ???

I received an email a couple of days ago from a friend that was curious about what happens to suicides when they die. I had tried to share some real information with someone the other day, and they didn't want to hear it, simply because it would shake up their investigation methods and results. Where I come from, shake them up! We need to make sure we are all doing a good job when we investigate. We want to learn, we want valid information. We don't pass on information unless we know it is valid.

My information comes from first hand experience, questioning guides, information from teachers both local and worldwide, from mediums who work ONLY at mediumship (in other words they aren't the check out girl at the local supermarket during the day) , and one very rare instance. That instance is a person who killed themselves (or tried), and was brought back. It can't get much better than that. The other information is from not just asking these sources about suicide, but the other side in general.

The part that lets you know the information is valid, is that all these sources (that are talented, respected, and educated), all say the same thing. There have been little personal experience differences, but the main theme stays the same.

I won't go into great detail, it would be a  "days long" blog, but here are the basics.

Suicides do not go to Hell. There is no physical or even energetic place called Hell. Hell is a state of mind and being, not a place or a punishment. There are several levels of what we call "heaven", which again is not a physical place. You can be in lower levels of "Heaven", but there is no "hell".

Suicides DO however have specific things happen that are "hellish". The Universe always offers options, you may not like all the options, but the choice is still there. The choice is not to cross all the way over (we all have that choice), but to stay in that in between place, or cross and re-do the life you just left.  Now if you or I died of natural causes, we could go haunt our friends, or stay in the house where we grew up. Suicides however, stay right where they are. They are not given the privileges and license to roam around just like everyone else. It is part of the deal for having left class (the school of life), before they were finished.

The second choice is come back here and do it all over again. No "cocoon" time in what we have called Heaven, although it is an energetic place it is not a physical space up in the clouds. Cocoon time is a healing time/acclimating time we can all choose to have when crossing all the way over (again I am not going to go deeply into all this right now). So , again, no perks, no rest, no playing golf with Albert Einstein, just "get back to school". The life is just as hard, and the lessons are the same.

Many suicides are fearful of Hell,  and I have crossed a few over after reassuring them that there is no "burning in Hell" awaiting them, but there is work to do. Some choose to still remain, but  in the same place.

They don't get to have the same options and freedom of movement open to all who die from outside causes. Why would they?  I mean you don't have to be able to converse with the other side to figure out that there is going to be a price to pay. It isn't literally what we read in the Bible, but figuratively. Each belief system has a similar way of saying that suicides have different and lesser options. Even in the "ghost world". Not crossing all the way over, doesn't get you out of the limits and payment due, for choosing to end your life.

There was a second part to this email and I will touch on it also. The question has been addressed in this blog before. How do you know you are getting valid spirit information? Unless you are a good and experienced psychic, or medium, you can't figure out if a spirit is presenting itself as someone else or not. There are also entities that can present themselves as human spirits which are not. There are also psychics and mediums out there that don't have a clue, who were never trained, apprenticed or honed their craft. It doesn't make them "bad people", but it makes them a little less reliable. Do you want a specialized neurosurgeon of 30 years operating on your brain, or the kid just out of med school? Experienced mediums and psychics know when something is playing games.

There is much to say for personal experience in this field. You see things and learn. There isn't a great handbook, although there are some great books out there, you have to read many, it isn't all in one.

This is one reason why we NEVER use flashlights to communicate with spirits. First of all , flashlights that twist will arc, repeatedly, that is NATURAL PHYSICS. It WILL happen. Period. So there you are asking questions and getting all kinds of flashes that mean absolutely nothing. There are too many valid ways to communicate, so why use a flashlight? The other reason is what I was writing about a couple of sentences ago. When a flashlight is flashing how do you know it is valid information. I know when I die, I am going to go tell ghost hunters I am whatever ghost they are looking for when they use a flashlight, how will they know who I am??? I will pass on all kinds of inaccurate information, I'll teach them not to use a flashlight.

Getting back on topic, suicides are not allowed the luxuries we all are allowed when we die. They can cross all the way over , get a sort of counseling, apologize to the living even. But they have to do it over again the same way, with the same lessons and life. They are not punished in "Heaven", but they don't get to go hang out with live friends at the local bar either. They don't get "feel good things", those are not available to them.

I asked a few experts if there could be exceptions to the rule, could one figure out a way to sneak out of this? They all say they have never heard of such a thing, and their guides tell them "no" (mine say the same thing), if one spirit has figured out a way, I suppose it is possible in a one in a billion situation, but the Universe would quickly know and put an end to that. So they would visit the local bar for about 1 second, and that would be the end to that.

I asked two of my former teachers (and one asked 3 of hers), if a suicide could be at their home if they killed themselves outside the home, the answer was, "unless it was in their garage or immediate vicinity as in on their property, no way".

There is much to learn about the "other side" and some great information out there.

The person who tried to kill themselves and was revived? They had many people, beings, and voices around them shouting that they did not want to die this way , to go back, that it was not the best way, they are not supposed to go now, they aren't finished. They said it was almost impossible to understand all the shouting, but they got the message, especially their grandmothers shouting "NO NO NOT THIS WAY"! They were revived, and that was 18 years ago. Apparently they still had a lot of work to do including being a parent.

When someone tells you "we don't know what happens on the other side", THEY don't know what happens on the other side. Many have been there in energy or in spirit and share with us on return. This is nothing new. There are even books on it dating back decades. We do know, and it is complex, fair,  and beautiful. It is also information that IS open and available to us now. One teacher said to remember that no where in the Bible does it say we have to, or automatically go to heaven when we die. That is what is preached, not what is written. That may explain all the ghosts around! I know from experience you don't HAVE to go to heaven, and I know that the souls who are here are NOT "poor lost souls", many feel sorry for them. There is no need to, it is their choice.

I will say this , if you in any way are thinking of suicide, don't do it. Even though you won't "burn in hell" the options aren't good. When live is bad this time around, doing it again , just the same, won't be easier! Staying in spirit at your death place is not going to be fun either. Seek help, and LIVE!

The new year, how's it going?

How is the new year going? It is pretty much going to stay the same through the year, so if you got off to a good start, then a good year, if it got off to a bad start, batten down the hatches. Now I don't mean little things like the annual flu, or it snowed a foot. I mean life events, changes, and general feeling. Your abundance, your attitude and faith in the world.

This year I have seen things shift. Usually it happens quietly in the background and you may even have to look backwards to find it. It is many times subtle. This year won't be subtle. When you mess up, you will know it, and when and how. You will see why things go sideways.

People will have life altering events this year. Some good, some not so good. Grandma used to say that the "chickens come home to roost", and they will this year, more than ever. They already are. Those who are , as I say, "doing the right thing for the right reasons", will see rewards. Those who aren't, or who are doing truly bad things, will see Karma. Those who wish for Karma to visit others, will get it themselves. Never wish and hope and pray for divine retribution on another person, the Universe has it all in hand, when ,where, and how. When you put out that "hate", because that IS what it is, you will get it back in turn. It isn't worth it. Let the Universe, God, or whatever Higest Power you resonate with , handle it.

When you have faith in life and hand over the "major stuff" to the Universe, things get taken care of properly and smoothly. Just because YOU want your ex to suffer, doesn't mean the Universe thinks he or she should. When you wish evil on them, YOU get the lesson!

I have seen so many people living in anger and fear. The changes , whether they realize it or not, are being felt, and making them uncomfortable. They can blame it on a number of things, but the anger, discomfort and fear is NOT coming from without. It is coming from within.

It is sad to see so many live that way, there is no need for it.

You can't immediately change the way things are going, it is "pay the piper" time. However, what you CAN do, is make sure that you are on a good path. Drop the anger and fear, drop the hate. Live positively and lovingly, and things will shift. The Universe is more responsive now. Do good, get good back every time, and quickly, do bad and Karma will be the least of your worries.

Remember that you are a member of a world community. This world is so intertwined , and that is the way it is supposed to be, that there is not a way to live without the rest of the world. We give and take, and like a family, sometimes the balance is out of whack, but when one member fails, the whole family takes the hit. We are supposed to be intertwined, and we will be. We have to learn to stop the hate, the fear, the greediness, and the ME ME ME. It is US US US. Like it or not, and that is the Universe's decision. Charity begins at home, yes, but only BEGINS.

When you find yourself hating, fearing, and angry at the world, the way things are, and your life. Make changes to YOU, it is the only thing that you can change right now, for the better, and have a say in. It is where it all will need to begin. It is the only place it CAN begin.

Remember that old song, "Let there be peace on earth"? It had the lyrics" Let peace begin with me, let this be the moment now...." It was a song of the times, and it was because of where we were in time and world events. Yet people miss the real crux of the song. Let it begin with me. Are you part of the problem or part of the solution? You can't create peace with angry words, thoughts, and snide comments. It isn't about pointing fingers, it is about YOU being the best you can be right now. It is not about hate, it is about helping others, no matter who, where they live, or what they do.

So, if you want the year to go well, and life to improve, then step up. Make good decisions NOT based on fear, hate, and retribution. It will not only being the right thing to do, but it will bring you peace, abundance and reward. Anger, hate and retribution based responses will  not only result in lessons, and negative results, but even your health. Cancer is more prevalent in angry people.

It is well worth it! It benefits you, the world, and those directly around you.

Change is made when YOU change, and YOU take DIRECT action. It is not meant through hate, arguing, sarcasm, and fear. It is not made by name calling, finger pointing and hate.Happiness begins inside of you, not in work changes, government changes, world changes. Please be a part of the positive change in the world, not part of the problem. It will benefit you, me and the rest of the world.

Do the right things for the right reasons, and the answer to the title of this blog will be "Awesome, abundant, happy and healthy!"

Times do change.....

I have an old Mustang, and years ago I said that I would be buried in it. It was never going anywhere, never was I going to watch someone modify it into something ugly, or beat it to death, and possibly themselves in the process. The car club, road rally events, trophies and road racing were all a huge part of my life. I still can say the most fun I have ever had was road racing school at Watkins Glen NY.

My Mustang was pampered, but not to the extreme where I would not drive it for fear of getting it dirty. It was driven, and hard at times, and I had a lot of fun. It was a huge presence in my life.

Now it sits in the garage. From time to time I have thought of selling it, and tried a few times with no luck. One night I asked my guides what I should be doing. I was expecting big answers, you know, the earth shakes, lightning strikes, and there is a bright light and an "aha" moment. It happened, but not LIKE that at all. There was a list of little things, and selling the car was one of them. It has been sitting for years, and it isn't made to sit. Yet the things that came in the list were practical, and a great example of not seeing the forest for the trees. The path changed years ago, and I had not cleared out some old stuff. A friend reminded me that part of the new energy is getting rid of material things that we own just to have them, things we don't truly need. Now that the time is right, I have a line of people wanting to buy the car. The Universe is facilitating things to make it happen.

It is time to get rid of things we don't need. Give the closet a once through and if you haven't worn it lately, give it to Goodwill. Clean out the clutter, no one needs 50 of anything, except maybe dollars.

My old life was over, and this is probably phase III of the new life, yet I had old life things around. Letting go of them opens new doors and makes room for the new. If you asked me about how I would feel if I sold the car 20 years ago, I would say "terrible", now it just seems easy. It is the right thing to do, and certainly the right time. It will go to someone who will do what they will with it. I no longer need control over what happens to it. I just WANT it to be driven, and although we don't always get what we want, I am sure it will.

Now, what can I do with all that garage space? Hmmmmmmm..........

Be an expert...

Take something that you are good at and really enjoy, and make yourself an expert at it. Think of it as an excuse to immerse yourself in one of your favorite things. It is fun to then take it and help others. It doesn't have to be something that is meant to benefit others originally , but it can become that, and usually does.

I have spent years honing skills in things I love. I have even put myself in some uncomfortable or even somewhat dangerous positions to learn more. It always pays off , and it always has the ability to be shared.

The metaphysical, quilting, and psychology are my special areas of knowledge, but then there are others that I am just learning more and more about, like the raptors. That was already an interest, and a place where I had learned much, now I am literally "hand on" and loving it. To be an "expert" you have to have "hands on", and expose yourself to many situations, people, and learning experiences. I have a long way to go to expert status there and may never get there, but the learning process is fun.

Some areas and interests are expensive, some are not. Some you can do more cheaply than others. Some you can jump into to the point of making it a career, and that is a very wonderful thing indeed!!

Become an expert. Read all you can, read DIFFERENT viewpoints, get inside information, and practice any skills needed. Make sure that you do it the right way, so you can share good knowledge, valid, valuable knowledge with others. Don't share that which is just your belief (or at least present it as such), as fact. Make sure you learn all you can.

Remember that with the knowledge comes responsibility. When you learn to share, you have to make sure that you share valid information. Share so others can learn and grow, and do not allow misinformation to be passed on, either through yourself or others.

My metaphysical knowledge has benefited me in many ways, and others as well. My quilting has benefited others not only in me sharing my knowledge through teaching, but sharing quilts with others from friends and family to institutions that see that they go to those who need them. There is always a place to share your skills and knowledge in a helpful , non egotistical way. Learn in order to teach and share, but become an expert first.

Learn, research and grow!

Settle a bet...

I had a reader ask if they could show me a picture to "settle a bet".  I said I would try and if it would be OK I could pass it on to someone who could.

It was almost too easy. It wasn't paranormal. It was a blob with a reddish edge, in other words , a finger. The reader won the bet.

When you have lived in a house full of strange sights and noises since you were nine, and have been swimming in the paranormal all your life, you learn what things look like that seem paranormal. They are fingers, camera straps, dust, water, moisture, spider webs, cob webs, bugs, flash reflections, and about a hundred other things. After 40 plus years of this stuff, plus a huge dose of "intuition", I can smell a finger, camera strap and bug a mile away......

When taking pictures or listening to EVPs, make sure your environment is "clean". Mark any interference. Outside photos are hard to put controls around, so take several and check as you go along to help narrow things down. Watch for what people call orbs, they are mostly dust and water vapor of some sort. Remember orbs have their own light (take the picture without a flash camera), they will glow with their own light. Real orbs are very rare indeed. Real orbs usually move VERY quickly, and have a "tail" like a comet. They glow and flash on IR video cameras.

Camera straps and spider webs create great eerie pictures, and fool many people. So do fingers.

Don't try to take a mist or black shadow, and make it a "person", don't clean up EVPs in any way. Don't mess with evidence. When you , or anyone else can look at ,or listen to the evidence and clearly,  and quickly see or hear it in the same way, then you usually have something.

Experienced investigators know to hold their breath when taking a picture in a cold environment, otherwise they get a mist. They do it without thinking, it becomes automatic. They know to watch for things that reflect light and heat. They make sure they know where IR lights are, and how often the automatic ice maker makes a noise. They check doors to see if "latched" doors push open. They don't put anything out there that doesn't pass the smell test.

Enthusiasm is the investigator's worst enemy. There are investigators out there who have a ton of "non-evidence" in their files. Don't be one of them! Buy the best you can, and know your equipment. It doesn't have to be the best, we all aren't Bill Gates, but buy the best you can, and know its' positives and negatives. Know how to work with YOUR tools. Also make sure you know your settings on cameras, voice recorders, etc. Know how to use probe thermometers, and that way you will always get quality. You also won't be stumbling in the dark trying to figure it out while you miss great evidence.

Always use the right tool, which means no twist flashlights for spirit communication. Use voice recorder, a ghost box, a Mel-meter, but not a flashlight. Orbs are the flimsiest piece of evidence there is, so toss them out and look for hard evidence, this is because they usually aren't orbs. Make sure you mark all evidence, and keep track of who is where.

Keep Grant Wilson's saying in mind, "When in doubt, toss it out". You may toss a piece of evidence, but when you get that holy grail of a full body apparition, people will believe you , as they know you are a quality investigator. Keep them in a "maybe" file, after all someday we may learn something that can authenticate or disprove that particular piece of evidence.

There is so much real evidence out there, that there is no need to share class B or below EVPS, or pictures that are questionable.

Oh...and keep fingers away from the lens.

Happy hunting!!

Questions on reiki answered

I was asked a few good questions yesterday, some were the same, but they were all on healing and spirituality.

The first question was asked/sent in by a few people and to paraphrase "so reiki masters are supposed to live different lives"?

Yes, they are. You can just take Reiki I , and hopefully it will change your life. Hopefully you will actually use it to heal yourself and others, hands on, but that is just a small part of the whole. When you begin that journey, Reiki I should open your eyes to things about energy, healing, and trust. It is about giving up your ego, and realizing you have no power, the power to heal doesn't come from us, but from Universal, divine energy, and we are just the channel. We have to then trust, have faith, and "let go and let god", in order to help heal others.

When you don't live that, and own that, you can't do reiki. When you truly live that and own that, you don't worry about who voted for what, abortion laws, races, immigration, money, anything. You KNOW that when you do the right thing, the right things will happen to you and around you. You know better than expect to not have lessons, but for the most part your life is very good, AND the days that aren't, you have the faith and attitude to make them good too. You still find things to be thankful for, and have a positive attitude.

I would hope that once you make it through Reiki II and to a Reiki Master all that is a "walk in the park". It is easy, done without thinking, and a constant. Will you have a bad day? Maybe. I haven't had a bad day in a long , long time. I have had people upset me for a short period, but I do what I need to do and move on. I drop people out of my life who are harmful to me in any way. I allow people to drift away who aren't clicking with me anymore, after all that is part of hte Universal plan, and I allow new people in. It all works out for the best. I make and keep healthy boundaries with people and other aspects of life.

The other question asked by a few was , again paraphrasing "are there a lot of people out there who have taken reiki and don't have a clue about life". The answer to that is unfortunately yes also. I was in a restaurant the other day and there was a loud, obnoxious woman behind me. She was running staff all over, including going back into the garbage to get food for her dog. She most likely had a few too many "bloody marys" that she complained were spicy (they are supposed to be spicy), and on and on. I had tuned her out, and then all of a sudden I hear her marveling that she did reiki on her dog and how well it worked. She didn't know reiki worked on dogs. Really? Who was your reiki teacher? Either they didn't have a clue, or you weren't paying attention. I thought , oh please God, no more flaky reiki people!!

So, yes, they are out there and they are people who take the classes because they think they will be interesting, or fun, or will give them some status, or they will make new friends....but they never get to the essence of reiki, to help all living things. The same thing happens with people who become online ministers. It gives them a "title" and something to do. It took me 6 months of classes, and that was fast (I had to do quizzes, tests, and more and got those done right away). Some people take longer. Some people buy a certificate on line. Real ministers will have to fill out reports and be registered as ministers legally. They will have cards, and have to be up to date on dues, and paperwork.

I do want to digress a little and mention something about reiki. I do call it a "healing" modality, and it is,however some people think that means it will make people better no matter what, like the faith healers claim to do. It does not always do that and there is a good reason, it is a process that is always for the person's highest good. It is up to God, the Universe, the Highest Power, to decide what that healing will be. No human has the ability to understand why that person has that affliction and if anything needs to be done, or should be done. The Universe does.

Sometimes what is for our highest good is not what we personally want.

Reiki is excellent for helping people pass over peacefully. It won't necessarily heal them in any way if they have a terminal disease, but it will help them to relax, accept, and be in a peaceful and ready state for their passing. Reiki is not a panacea for what we want, but for what we need.

So yes, Reiki masters do have to live life differently, but they will automatically do that if they "get it". It won't be something they need to think about, or at least hopefully not, but people have slipped to that point. The same goes with practices from the Far East, like tai chi. Tai chi is about the moment, moving energy around now to help, heal, relax. It is about trusting Universal energy and the manipulation of it, to bring about better health. It works wonders. Most Eastern modalities are about living in the now. When you are practicing them, you don't worry about the future, or politics, or what your ex is doing, you live in the NOW. It is a great place to live, and takes practice.

No one should be teaching tai chi, reiki or any spiritual modality who is generally upset, angry, frustrated with life or the world. No one should be teaching any spiritual endeavor that does not "get it". Not everyone should be taught it either, like the lady in the restaurant (or maybe it was her teacher's fault). Reiki masters can drink, and laugh, and cut up, but all the while they are in a place that is positive, loving, helping and teaching.

We think because someone has taken a class or has a title like "reki master" it makes them special. It should in a way, but unfortunately since anyone can take classes in anything, it doesn't.

Reiki will work , always, no matter who is giving it. But would you rather get your medicine form an up to date source with a clean glass of water, or outdated, low quality medicine from a dirty cup with muddy water.....you get the picture.

Reiki Masters and other spiritual teachers.

A few years back, when I was working to become a reiki master, I told my reiki master teacher that I would not teach or certify just anyone who came to me to be a reiki master. They would have to "apply". Certainly they could go elsewhere, and that was fine with me. I did not want to be responsible for putting a reiki master out there that was going to do more harm than good, give reiki a bad name, or act unlike a reiki master and then tell people I was their teacher.

She said she struggled with that. We needed healers, and she was hoping people who were sent to her had their hearts and minds in the right place that the training would inspire them. We had a discussion this weekend because I asked her, "Am I crazy?"

You see,  I see people who are supposed to be healers, teachers, reiki masters and so called "spiritual" people, doing, and saying, the most hateful, ridiculous and UNspiritual things.

The reiki prayer tells us to do things "just for today". It reminds us we are not perfect, but human, yet if we take things one day at a time and try our best, we will accomplish much. We won't be Mother Teresa most likely, and no one expects us to, but we will do amazing things to help and heal.We will improve our lives and the lives of others.

However, what I DO see is people who claim to be spiritual, to be healers, and to promote knowledge , love and peace for ALL, ACTUALLYspreading hate, negativity, fear and  prejudice. How did that happen? Those who paid attention in their training know to never do those things, yet I see some doing it every day.

Reiki masters, and other healers, teachers and spiritual guides NEVER spread fear, hate, negativity, or prejudice.  They are respectful and positive at all times, to all people, and never lead a fear based life. They learn , and learn each day to "let go and let God (or whatever word resonates with you). They teach, they even push, but they never , ever use fear, violence, hate, or misinformation, and then give to the local food bank thinking they are covered. You can't work the Universe tit for tat, it doesn't work that way.

Reiki practitioners, and other healing modalities practitioners, "hate" words should never leave your lips, disrespect to ANYONE should never leave your lips.Words that make people fear or feel badly should never leave your lips. Misinformation (sometimes you may actually be fooled), that you can easily check should never leave your lips. You can disagree, but when you lower yourself to fear mongering, hate, and name calling, you are NOT a reiki master, not a healer, not a teacher and certainly NOT a spiritual person.

Reiki masters learn to let go, they learn to trust that the Universe has it all under control. They learn to not use nasty words to upset, frighten, or hurt. They let things go, and don't strive every day to make the same point that benefits them in some way. They know we are a global community, and we all cannot survive without each other. They promote love, peace, positive energy and lack of fear.  They forgive, and know that forgiving does NOT mean you have to then become the person's best friend, that you can let people go. It certainly doesn't mean throwing out zingers to sting people and make a point. It certainly doesn't mean be sarcastic or smart a$$.

Right now the Universe is still driving wedges between people, it is still taking us away from people who don't get it, who forgot it, or refuse to use it. The wedges are going deeper, and are making their way into relationships where they were not before.

I have seen those wedges, and so has the reiki master that taught me. We have seen it in our lives and the lives of others. I remember a few months back someone saying something to me about a person I left behind a long time ago, a person that wasn't walking the talk. I had pretty much forgotten they existed and their name had not crossed my lips in years. The words said to me were pretty much, I know you don't like so and so , but.....Actually I had forgotten all about "so and so". I don't like or dislike them, they are sort of like the old address book in my drawer. It isn't something I consult anymore, I know it is still there, and I have no feelings about it at all. I guess it is hard for people to understand that some of us can move on so well that we almost forget a person, situation, or problem existed.

Reiki Masters, healers, and teachers need to start walking their talk, and not half way. It isn't OK to be a misinforming, fear mongering, hateful person all day and do a reiki healing at night and think you are being spiritual and kind. You aren't. You are trying to cover the stuff you KNOW is not right, it isn't good enough.

You are NOT smarter than the Universe, and it doesn't need you trying to control life. It doesn't need you taking the reins. Sometimes the Universe uses people to help change the world, but not by scaring people, calling names, making snide comments, spreading fear and hate. When you do that you are NOT even CLOSE to doing the work of the Universe, God, or Good in ANY WAY , SHAPE or FORM! The road to good things is not paved in negativity, forcing others to agree, fear, and hate. Not one single brick!

I am hoping that all the people out there that were trained in aspects that teach us to live in the now and to let go , like tai chi, yoga, reiki, meditation, and others, stop with hate, fear, and prejudice. Start walking the talk of those modalities.

Stop using unkind words that are used only because their harshness is meant to get a reaction. Stop spreading hate, fear, and misinformation. STOP. Respect others around you, live peacefully in the now and stop spreading negativity. You are the ones who were trained to lead by example, and I must say the example I am seeing from some is pretty bad.

You aren't going to be perfect, as it is "just for today", but that doesn't mean, you get to screw up for months at a time. "Just for today" is not a "Get out of jail free" card. Think about what those modalities are and what the inherent basic tenets of them are. Are you living them daily? If not, stop in your tracks and get back to what you knew was the right thing, and walk your talk again, if you can't manage that, then say "I will no longer call myself a _______", and move on from it.

Do it the way the Universe intended , and with these modalities they come with a lifestyle change, not just a mantle you place on in a healing session or class and take off later, or don't do it all.

My old reiki master clearly sees my point about not teaching everyone. My reiki master understands. Hopefully some others will do a gut check and make some changes.

Hobby Money

Yesterday I was asked how I manage to have money for things. I work. Hard, seven days a week. My husband works two jobs. When we need to, we buckle down. We aren't foolish with money, but we also aren't afraid to spend it. When we spend it, we spend it wisely.

There are ways of making money on the side, and there are ways of having money for your hobby. I have a couple of slightly expensive ones. I love to hike in places other than where I live, that being the high desert, and east coast mountains. That costs money. I quilt, that costs a lot of money, at least at times it does. A really good sewing machine big enough to roll a quilt into costs at least $1000.00. Good fabric is expensive (about $8 a yard, and most quilts take about 12 to 15 yards). I do ghost investigations, that costs money for equipment and travel.

How do we do it? We plan, we spread the money out. We know that certain money will go to specific places. We also watch our normal spending. I see people who can't afford $20 to do something, but they have a ton of expensive things they don't need. There are people with ipads who can't afford $20 to go to an event. Priorities! It is OK if your electronics are your priority, as long as you are able to turn on the heat and eat that is, but when you have an expensive hobby, you need to have a way to fund it. Unless you own a business you don't NEED an ipad (even then there are cheaper options). Have the money and want expensive stuff, cool!

The person I spoke to yesterday asked about affording ghost hunting trips. We currently have a few advertised that right now, would cost a minimum of $115.00.People who have $115 on them right now can go on two trips. One has an $85 balance due in October, I think a person could raise $85 by October.  That is NOT a lot of money. I personally have two additional ghost trips planned for another $150.00. That is $265.00 right now. Four trips. I actually have more money than that out for the trips as ones are paid in full, etc. ,but let's use the two trips on the table for all with a $265.00 total.

Let's assume you have a job, and that you get paid every other week. Each time you get paid, put $7.00 minimum in your ghost hunt jar. That $7 at the end of a year of saving,is $365.00. That would enable not only the trips deposits on the table, but for both to be paid IN FULL and $165.00 left over.. That means you could add in the two additional trips I am taking, and still have money left over. Put in a minimum of $5 a week, and you will still be sitting pretty at $260, just chip in another $5and you are right with me on 4 trips. If you can afford more each week, put it in and buy some equipment.

It all comes down to how important is it to you to be able to do these things? important enough to save up or not? You have a limited amount of money, then you have a limit to what you can do. There is nothing wrong with that, you just have to decide what is important.

Don't have a job? I don't think your spouse would mind giving you $5 a payweek, or if you have your own business and a good week, put extra in that week, and nothing on a down week.

This isn't hard!

Ghost investigations cost money. All the haunted houses are not going to situate themselves near you....at least I would hope not. People tend to forget that the price of admission to these places isn't the only part of the cost. At a minimum, you need gas money, food money, and possibly motel money. You also need a little extra in case something goes wrong, like a car breaks down. The person I spoke to yesterday wanted to know if we did any "free" things. yes, there is one, and investigations we do for families (which may actually have no ghosts!). We do NOT go into spooky old houses we find along the side of the road, that is trespassing.

Think about getting a credit/debit card for your hobby only. Credit cards are essential these days, they are a necessary evil. Most places won't take a deposit without one, from rental cars to hotel rooms. If you can't get one, get a prepaid card. You can put your jar money on it, and pay deposits, motel room fees, and more.

Aside from the investigation itself, you need equipment. Here are the basics:

A good voice recorder, the good ones start at about $60-70.00

A camera. Small digital ones are not the best for ghost hunting. Make sure that you have a camera where you can turn off the flash, and a camera where you can set the timing on the lens is best. They are expensive, approximately $500 for the cheapest, all the way into the thousands.

A SMALL flashlight. You mostly want to use YOUR night vision. It is how you will pick up most ghostly activity. Flashlights and night vision apparatus filter and can actually make paranormal phenomenon disappear. Spirits, orbs (real ones), and energy anomalies, give off THEIR OWN LIGHT, you will see them better in the dark. Flashlights are more for checking equipment than seeing where you are going. The small/less lumins flashlight keeps your night vision from being effected, and is easy to carry.

A pad and pencil, spare batteries, water, and you are set.

Once you get serious about things, then there are other items you can buy.

IR video cameras are about $500-800.

IR camera systems are also about $300, plus you need a monitor  ($100-200), extension cords, etc.

Computer programs to analyze and save all the evidence.

Laser grid- $30-100

K2, Melmeter, Mutlimeter- Anywhere from $100-300

Thermometer with probe -$40

First aid kit, cooler, and other items you would normally take for a night outdoors, most "haunted sites" don't have all the conveniences of home.

There are more goodies you can buy, getting very sophisticated. Things you really won't need , but would be nice to have like a thermal camera. Walkie talkies, IR digital still cameras, and motion detectors are all fun things to have in a controlled environment.

DO NOT, EVER use phone applications on investigations. They do NOT work. Your phone as a camera won't cut it either, or as a voice recorder. Your phone, no matter how expensive it is,  isn't going to do the job, except for phone and internet use.

This is not a "cheap" hobby, and it is a hobby where you can be out in the cold and dark, and nothing happens (sort of like deer hunting). You can spend a ton of money, and not have an experience or scrap of evidence. That is how it goes. It is not for the faint of heart or light of wallet. Yet, like most hobbies, you can get by just fine with little money and a system for making sure you can go where you want to. Sometimes one hobby will need to be pushed to the background so another can get attention, both time and money. It is the way things go. Sometimes hobbies get pushed aside so new ones can come in. There is nothing wrong with that!

Set goals, boundaries and dates, and watch how easy things become.

Why ghost hunt?

I had an email the other day that asked....Why do people ghost hunt?

Because they are there.

Seriously though, people do it for a lot of reasons. I do it because as a child I spent many a scary night with the spirit of a man who built our house, and his wife. He killed her years before,  and they still were there creating an icky atmosphere. Being psychic, I had even more experiences, and I had no answers. There was not the plethora of information at the time that is now available.

There are many reasons that people "ghost hunt", I like to call it "ghost investigations". I am not "hunting them", I think they are more likely hunting me. They are always right there in front of us, they just don't always choose to make themselves evident to us.

Some people investigate to see if there really is life after death. Some like the excitement, others want to try to disprove and end up becoming believers. Some had an experience they can't explain and are looking for answers. Some have a desire to investigate just to try to invent techniques and tools that will "read" ghostly activity. Ghost investigation nerds! Some have things going on in their homes and want answers, they get "hooked".

People who investigate are tough people, nerdy people, spiritual people, strange people, and outright scared half to death people. They are all sorts and backgrounds.  There has been a few studies done on the demographics of investigators...so for all you numbers people out there, here we go.

Demographics:

A majority are female (60%), between the ages of 25-35. There are investigators from high school to retired people though.

Most are from the southern United States.

Most completed high school or above (80%).

Most have a steady income.

Most are believers (97%), and more believe in the paranormal, then God as a single entity, although most are religious.

Most people in the US believe in the paranormal (75%). That number is up, and statistics show it is from shows like "Ghost Hunters" and "Ghost Adventures". People are split 50/50 on whether the evidence on these shows is "fact" or not, which I find very interesting. I think the shows attract believers who want to see evidence, and skeptics who want to find a way to refute it.

Another bit of info, that didn't have a percentage to it, is that most don't care about pictures of orbs. They consider them most likely paranormal, but not anything significant. The problem with orbs as far as I am concerned, is most orbs I have seen are dust, water, water vapor, steam, smoke, fog, and fireflies. I have also seen fingers, camera straps, spider webs and more, that people think are "paranormal".

Our particular group tries to be very conscientious about what we allow to go through as evidence. Grant Wilson once said "When in doubt toss it out", and I go by that saying. I have pictures and EVPs that are most likely something, but there is a possibility they are not, so I don't use them. I NEVER "clean up" or alter evidence in any way. It stands alone, or it goes in the trash. When you frequently ghost hunt and do a quality job, you will geet tons of quality evidence.

We are very respectful and make sure we keep information confidential on private investigations, and respect the spirits. We don't yell at them or provoke them, if you have to do that to cause a reaction,  then you don't actually have a haunting in the first place. We don't do things that can easily have another cause,  like flashlight communication where most times the flashlight just arcs and turns on until the arc is spent and turns off. Flashlight communication is up there with orbs. We go for authentic, valid, strong evidence only.

The downside to investigating (yes there is one):

It does cost money in fees, travel, equipment, food, etc.

The environment can vary from unpleasant to dangerous (animals, falling ceilings, and drug addicts are just a few of the issues).

Bad things rarely happen, but can. People can have negative spiritual experiences, and get physically injured.

You can have an awesome experience with no evidence to back it up. That is a major frustration.

Sometimes there are some nutty people out there in open groups that can make the experience uncomfortable or unpleasant.

Sometimes nothing happens after hours and hours of last sleep.

Investigating is fun, frustrating, exciting, boring, and sometimes downright uncomfortable.
Yet, we do it. We do it for many reasons, and for each person who does it, that reason is perfect.

Happy hunting!

If it were only so easy.....

Yesterday a reader commented via email on the fact that I promote Amazon.com frequently (I do, Amazon is God's gift to bibliophiles). She said she has become a proponent of promoting local sellers, and that I should also.

I do shop local, I also shop where I can get things I need. I find that locally there are not the books, crystals, and other paraphernalia I need for many of my hobbies (for instance, items made especially for desert hiking, I get those in Arizona).

But besides all that, think about this a moment. Small, local sellers are good to patronize, don't get me wrong, however, when you buy from chains or National brands, you DO promote locally. Many people in our area work for Toyota, a Japanese based company. They also work for TJ Maxx, a chain, and Shoe Carnival, another chain. It is not that simple as buying from a "mom and Pop"

I counsel, coach and advise on line worldwide and locally. I don't tell people not to use the worldwide service. use what works best for you, if I am the best, then you will use my goods and services, and if not, then you won't. It doesn't matter where my "storefront" is. Many smart, local, Mom and Pop stores have an online service, they get it, they make themselves available to everyone. When they have the best items and prices, people go to them, and that is what it is all about.

I remembered an email sent by a friend saying to check all labels and buy only products with apples grown in the US. Really? OK, that means that you will never have the products you need, and certainly NOT year round. This is not because of cheap Chinese labor, but because we only grow so many apples in this country. We cannot supply our need for apple juice, apple pie, apple strudel, apples themselves. We can't. Then there is this little thing called seasons. We get apples from Brazil because it is summer there when it is winter here.

We are a world community and we are all connected. When we buy from anyone, we are helping everyone. When we buy from foreign countries we don't have to aid them (and we do have to aid others, spiritually and financially). We cannot isolate ourselves from foreign countries. We and they, would not survive. They get what we can supply, and we get what they can supply. There are many items we do not produce here because we don't want the manufacturing process in our environment, and other countries are happy to produce them. There are items that are too expensive to make here due to lack of natural resources, and visa versa. Seasons, weather, workforce....it all has an effect. Not to mention if we become snobs and cut ourselves off from the rest of the world,  they will hate us even more and we will spend the rest of our existence defending our borders, that is if we can even survive in the first place.

When you stroll into a chain store and buy a camera, your neighbor's son may have just made his first sale. Locals work at those chains. So what about Amazon? Amazon IS local . It is certainly local to the state I live in, Indiana (a warehouse), and Arizona, Missouri, and other states. Your neighbor may have been smart enough to buy stock in Amamzon, and benefits every time you buy a book.

The old "buy local" concept is one that really doesn't have a direct effect anymore. Small local stores, if they are quality and market well, will thrive due to customer service, speed, and assistance.

Sometimes people just can't afford to shop locally. Small businesses can sometimes price themselves right out of the market. I can buy used books on Amazon, and I know of a few local used books stores, but the selection is whatever people discarded (not very good books or the unusual ones I want or need). I can go on Amazon and get just about any book, period. I can download many for free on my Kindle. Since when did being cost conscious or getting the product you need become a crime?

I also have to say that there is a local shop that twice sold me items that were not authentic. It may be lack of knowledge or outright dishonesty, but buying local doesn't guarantee you authentic, fair price or quality.

We CAN'T limit ourselves to US grown products (well we can but there will be a lot of doing without), or local stores. The world has grown and changed, and just becsue someone is local, doesn't mean he is the best quality or deal.

There are no simple answers to anything in the world anymore. Be a citizen of the world, support your country as much as possible, yes, but realize we are all connected, so we are all LOCAL.

Discernment and Boundaries

One of the biggest lessons we learn in the metaphysical world is discernment/setting boundaries. We are not supposed to teach everyone, help everyone, agree with everyone, or enable anyone. We are supposed to set healthy boundaries with all our friends, clients and students.

There are many in the world who try to heal all the sick, read for all those who want readings and never make them do an energy exchange (money is a form of energy exchange), and then wonder why their skills aren't sharp, they are sick, they feel drained...it is becasue we are not supposed to do for everyone. Part of what we do in life to help others, is to teach them to help themselves.

We have to set boundaries in everything we do. That includes spiritual work. We cannot help others if our battery is always low. We cannot be at the top of our game, or safe in intense situations if we are half worn out, not sharp, and alert.

We also have to constantly remember to listen to Universal messages. When the Universe is telling you to stay away from a person, even if they need help, stay away. Maybe it is not time for them to receive help yet, maybe more lessons need to be learned, or another person may be effected. It is not our place to second guess the Universe. We are here to partner with the Universe and be the human forms that help do things so others can learn, grow and thrive.

We have to remember to always use protection and to always be alert. Some people carry a lot of negative energy, illness and even attached spirits with them, and we need to protect ourselves from these things. When you go into helping someone completely open, you are open to negative and positive, and the negative can sneak in. NO ONE can become possessed or allow an attachment without in some way welcoming that in. Your soul is not in constant danger of evil, but you also don't want to swim in those waters without protection. You also need to know what you are doing. Seriously know. A matchbook application to be an ordained minister won't cut it.

Many people get excited over delving into the psychic, the supernatural, the metaphysical. It is fascinating and  eye opening, but it is not a game. You are going in to places where there are energies that are strong, serious, and concentrated, if you don't know what you are doing, you can get into serious trouble. You can be helping to heal someone who has serious issues and dark energy, and when you open yourself up to heal that person, it can come in.

Remember the old Zack from GA? He isn't so confrontational any more. They learned the hard way. When things follow you home, effect your health, sleep, peace, and ability to function, then it isn't so much fun anymore.

Make sure you are always with someone who knows what they are doing, and also remember that there are many fakes and self taught people from the Misinformation Superhighway (the internet) out there. Learn from people who know what they are doing, and learn well.

Meanwhile, for all energy workers, give yourselves a break. I have so many good people asking why they are always run down, ill, and debilitated lately. It is becasue they are doing too much.
Don't sap your strength, you may need it one day!

Learn, research and grow!

People who can't stop.....

A reader emailed me last night and asked "what is it with those idiots that just can't stop? They go on and on about things. They spread hate, fear, sarcasm, and stupid saying (sp) thinking they sound what????SMART? REALLY?"

Good question. You know the guy/gal. They send you email on the same subject day after day. They post nothing but Facebook placards on a subject, and when you question the validity of what they post, and where they got their information from , they go off the deep end, and keeping posting and posting and posting. You already know where they stand on animal rights, gun control, abortion, ad naseum, yet they just can't stop.

What is up with that?

What is up is a person who thinks that they are spiritual, smart and have it all together and they correcting this messed up world, and what they are , is far from those things. It is OK to take a stand, make a few comments, and have a lively discussion. However, when you are obsessed, when you get nasty, when you get angry, when you post things just to rile up people after the dust has settled. You have a problem.

Our world is a place where we are supposed to be in a peaceful state. We aren't always supposed to agree, but we are supposed to always be nice to each other. When you post things, email things, say things, just to get a rise out of people, then you are not being a good Universal citizen. You are being a brat, a bully, or even a flat out jerk.

The answer to the question posed by the reader is that there are several reasons, the most "popular" is that there are people out there that believe if they get the last word, shout over you, or make more statements than you, they win. They feel that makes them right, and that they have won the argument. They don't even have to speak facts, just keep on speaking, they think that makes them look right and smart. It does just the opposite. Usually , after a while, people stop paying attention, and they end up arguing with themselves.

The other reason is attention. Some people just need more attention than others. They don't even care if it is negative attention. When I was studying psychology at Montclair State a fellow student did an experiment on this subject. She found that even good people, when ignored, will eventually step over a line to getting negative attention. Some step WAY over the line, but most good people just give things a little nudge, yet it happens. So some are just attention seekers.

A third reason is that their life is in chaos. There are financial problems, personal problems, medical or emotional issues, or all of the above, and causing upset somewhere else makes them feel better about their situation and prove the old adage "misery loves company".

One other is that they are just plain insane.

They are people with no faith, they may think they have it, or pronounce that they attend church every Sunday, but they DON'T have one ounce of faith. People who have faith, let things go. They "let go and let God"...or whatever word resonates with you. They may get upset with things, but they try to change them, by doing things like working in a soup kitchen, but they don't go on and on and on in social media and personal contact.

Having real, healthy faith is what makes people calm and peaceful. They aren't angry with the system, the government, the world. They don't live in fear, they don't worry about laws being "un-religious", they let God, the Universe, worry about all that. They trust it will work out fine for them, and you know what, it does.

If you are one of those people that keeps posting things days after the incident, argument or world happening has ended; days after your friends have gone back to the lives.....you need to take a hard look at you, and not be known as one of the crazy people that is obsessed by needing to show how much you can try to prove your point.

Write a book, a blog, that people can CHOOSE to read, or not, and get yourself to a happier place, because the person who wrote to me is right, there are too many of you out there. You don't check your facts, you don't care how you look, you just SPOUT. Stop, and have faith, it will feel better, trust me.

The Universe has is all under control. It may not be YOUR preferred way of things being, but trust me , the Universe is MUCH smarter than you!

Big booms, stop the fear.

The big booms are back in the news. This is the third or fourth time that I remember it being a big deal in my lifetime. Yes, this is NOT new.

People speculate,  and some joke (it was because I just ate 5 burritos), but then there are the ones who go off the deep end. They go right to FEAR. We just got past Dec 21 without the world ending, so now the fearful people of the world need something else to occupy their time. They claim it is the end of the world, that God is mad at us, and that the earth is about to shatter apart into tiny pieces.

All of that will make good movies, but it isn't what is going on.

The booms are constantly occurring, however when there is just say one a month, we don't really notice it. We chalk it up to a sonic boom, a young boy trying out his new shotgun, an accident, a large container being moved, or anything else our rational minds can come up with. When there are many, they are more noticeable. When they make the news, we are paying attention and hear them even more!

The booms are part of our world and noises that happen constantly. Many of the noises we cannot hear with our limited human ears, but the Universe is full of noise. Pulsars are the main culprit, and their "noise" is constant and regular. I remember in college listening to "space noise", it is a cacophony ! It is a good thing we can't hear it, it would drive us crazy!

So what are the noises? Some of them are totally normal, like sonic booms created by jets, industrial noise, trains starting to move, coupling and uncoupling, construction, industry, guns, fireworks, and all the other normal booms that fill our day when we aren't paying attention.

The rest of the noises are many and varied, but the most common are earth plates shifting (which by the way they do all the time, in some places more than others, but they are always moving); electromagnetic noise from space; a noise that builds and gathers from communication sources (phones, radios, etc) it creates a level where waves cross and BOOM; electromagnetic discharge, much like lightning; natural radioactive discharge.

We are constantly bombarded with electromagnetic fields, we create them, and they occur naturally. Just like static builds up and releases in lightning during a storm, the man made discharge happens also, but there isn't a storm. we create it with all those electronics that we so lovingly use constantly.

The internet is full of crazy speculation about the noises, and many of them promote fear. Yesterday I wrote about the fact that we as a people need to stop putting so much fear, anger and hurt into our world. It does NO good, and making people fear is a form of bullying. Make sure that you spread correct information and NEVER spread fear. Check out everything before you pass it on.

The earth and our Universe if full of mysterious and wondrous things, but it is not a place of fear. When you live in fear and make decisions out of fear, you ALWAYS make the wrong decision!

Live a fear free life!

Fear....

You have all heard me talk about fear. When you make decisions out of fear, you will ALWAYS make the WRONG decision. Last night a friend sent me an email of gun "facts". I researched them , not one of them was accurate. They weren't accurate becasue the author wasn't striving to be truthful or accurate, they were striving to make a point, scare people, and get a reaction. The other part of it was that the logic was flawed, and one statement had nothing to do with the others.

A "fact" on this list, was that 195,000 are killed annually by medical malpractice. First of all this email was trying to show that other things kill more people than guns. When you look up all the numbers, you will find that actually the opposite is true from the faked statistics this email listed. It also is what you call flawed logic. Any 5th grader will tell you that saying something like "my turtle killed more people than my rock, so we need to outlaw turtles and leave the rocks alone", is flawed logic. It makes no sense, and isn't true. We learn how to compare in grade school, but apparently forget as adults. They are apples and oranges, just because turtles kill 5 people and rocks only 4, doesn't mean we shouldn't try to remedy both. The answer is NOT "leave the rocks alone". This isn't a numbers game.

The "fact" that most entertained me, was that the medical malpractice number wasn't just skewed a little, or fancied up, it was MORE THAN DOUBLE the real number. Now, I know people pretty up their numbers here and there, round up or down to make a point, but DOUBLE??
People write this crap becasue they know that people will swallow it whole. People do, the person who sent it to me did...and yes I sent it back with the REAL FACTS and links to the information.

I ask all of you to CHECK OUT THE REAL FACTS before passing on, reprinting, or in any way redistributing "information", especially on the WORST source of information , Facebook placards. Never pass along scaremail or anything that tries to misinform, or put fear into other people. That is disgraceful. It is BEING A BULLY (see things my way, even if I have to lie to you!).

There is no room in 2013 for people to mislead, lie, cause fear or bully others. RESEARCH and make sure that you get REAL information before passing it on.

The Universe doesn't need more fear and misinformation, don't be part of the problem , be part of the solution!

What will my year be like?

The most frustrating reading a person can ask for, is one where they have no idea what they are looking for. People tend to get readings just for the heck of it, for entertainment, to hear good things, to have something to look forward to. None of these is a reason to get a reading.

Psychic information is insider information designed to help you make decisions. That means you already have to have an idea of what you want to accomplish, or what you need to do. You then get an outline, or guidance for that goal.

When you access psychic information, you go to the Highest Power and get answers. Do you really think the Highest Power is here to tap dance and entertain you? When you ask for these general readings, these "I don't know why I am asking, or what to ask" scenarios, you will get exactly what you put into it. Meaningless nonsense. When you really have no questions, why are you asking? Most times people know, and most times it is associated with a relationship. They just are too embarrassed to ask or are playing "test the psychic". What they don't realize is they will hear what they NEED to hear, not what they WANT to hear.

I remember a friend of a friend telling me how unhappy she was becasue she did this "oh just tell me anything" scenario, to a reader and heard bad things. Well, you asked! I have also had people ask me to NOT tell them anything bad, I don't work like that, then it isn't a reading, it is me telling you untruths that you want to hear. A waste of time and energy, and your money.

Many times I ask the person's name they want to know about. They say "oh no one in particular". I then do the reading, and they are hoping a certain person's name will get mentioned (and in a good way). The person doesn't get mentioned most times, and then after all that they say, "Well what about Bob?". Why we just can't ask about "Bob" in the first place is beyond me. I know you have someone you want to ask about, so why do we do the dance? We do the dance because the querant is hoping against hope, they will hear good things about a person who is really not connected to them in the way they want them to be. It is so frustrating and a waste of time and money.

A lady recently asked what exciting thing would happen to her in the next 2-3 weeks. The answer was nothing. That was the honest answer. I know she was looking for an online assignation to become the love of her life, but it wasn't going to happen. Instead of setting herself up to think I wasn't picking up on anything, she should have just asked about that relationship. I did answer her that I didn't see anything exciting in the next 2-3 weeks, but that there was a new relationship coming early summer.

There is a fine line there where we don't want to embarrass our clients by saying something like "Well why don't you just ask about that man, he isn't going to be significant, any more questions about him?" That would be rude, but yet when you don't do that, silly people think "oh they didn't pick up on the love of my life".

When you don't have a question, don't get a reading. It takes an enormous amount of energy to do readings, sometimes they are easier and flowing, and sometimes they are like pulling teeth. We as readers, also take the risk of opening up to energies that are harmful to us. Everytime we do a reading we reach into the other side, we would love to do that to help people, we don't like doing it just for the heck of it.

Readings are not a game, nor for entertainment. They aren't there to give you happy things to look forward to. I have done so many of these "please entertain me" readings, I sometimes want to scream. There is so much powerful and valuable information out there, and people bypass it for "what will my next boyfriend look like"? I mean, really, who cares?

When you want to know what your year will be like, ask yourself, "What kind of day am I going to have"? That is your answer. When you make each day count, find something to be positive about in it, and strive to find new things to learn. When you look for ways to exhibit random acts of kindness and live a grateful life. When you do the right things for the right reasons, you will have a fabulous year!

Do you really  want to know about the accident or illness that you cannot avoid? People say that they want to know, but they really don't.When there is nothing that you can do to change things, or that a warning will prevent, the message is not sent. Sometimes it is Karma, and the Universe does not warn you that it is about to dump Karma on your head.

Never get a reading for fun, or because you are bored. Never get a reading because someone else drags you into it. Never get a reading because you are looking for someone else to make you feel better. Never get a reading because you  want to spy on another person or hear that something bad will happen to an enemy. Never get a reading to play "test the psychic".

Unless you are in a huge crisis, never get a reading more than 4 times a year. People can become addicted to readings and want to be told what to expect everyday. The main part of our life lessons is how we react to the unexpected, trying to skip that class will NOT end up going well for you.

Get a reading because you have questions and need some guidance from a higher power. This is the only reason. When you cannot find answers and you are struggling with an issue, get a reading. When you are trying to make a decision and want to weigh the pros and cons, or decide between two choices, get a reading. When you are bored, take a class, read a book, go to a movie.

You wouldn't walk up to God and say "Entertain me!", so don't do it through a psychic or medium!

Do the right things for the right reasons!

Learning from a Founding Father.

We all have heard the saying that those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. It is a very true statement. It means that we can learn from others' mistakes and use that knowledge to do better. When we ignore those events, we can suffer again from the failures or issues that arose. When we address those issues first ,we can find success.

United States history is a subject that is full of a rich amount of information. Being a young country that began after recorded history, there is much to have at one's fingertips, if one bothers to look.

I always have a pile of books I am reading, and one is always history. Right now there happens to be two of them, 1676 and The Autobiography of Ben Franklin. Both are fascinating to me, but Franklin's account is interesting because what we would think of the Founding Fathers and the colonial and revolutionary times, isn't reality.

There isn't this warlike attitude. There is no mention of guns, ambush or rights. It is daily life, as it were. It may be a disappointing read to some for that, but it is all the more interesting to me because of it.

There is so much talk today about what the Founding Fathers thought, or meant, or intended, and most of what I have heard lately is pure grade A  BullS*&. The Founding Fathers lived in a different world, they didn't have thoughts, plans and ideals based on how we think today, they didn't have the basis for it.   The only talk of guns in Franklin's autobiography was a lottery set up to buy a cannon for the fort in Philadelphia. They had to borrow some others from Col. Clinton to finish arming the fort.

That is about 2 pages of the book.

Franklin was about community, fellow man, knowledge and doing the right thing (Jefferson was very similar). He didn't attend church, he felt the preachers reiterated dogma and never talked about how to be a good person. He would listen to preachers here and there if they interested him, and give to the local church , just so they could have funds, but he didn't attend.

He even made up a list of virtues (13 of them), to work towards, and kept track of how he was doing each day. He constantly forgave debts, set people up in business (usually printing houses), and was always looking for things to pay people to do.

He never applied for a patent on the Franklin stove although it was a hit in the colonies and later in England, where another man claimed to have come up with the idea and made a small fortune. Franklin didn't care, he just cared that people were warm, and using less wood.

He started the first library, fire company and street cleanings in Philadelphia. He was constantly looking for ways to make people's lives better, and didn't care that he didn't make a fortune off of any of it. His book talks about these things, not about the war, or the signing of the Declaration of Independence. He doesn't talk of hating the British (he travels back and forth to England several times over his lifetime), or the military. There were more positive, productive, and helpful things to do and say.

He would offer people solutions to civic problems, and let them know if there was a cost and how much. When they wanted to pay, good, it was done, when not, it wasn't. Rarely did something not happen that Franklin proposed. Now people whine over a few pennies here and there to help others. We are NOT our founding fathers, that is for sure.

He didn't even get into political arguments. He would say "OK, let's vote", they would vote, then they would do what was voted on , all together, 100%, with no complaints, issues, whining or sabotaging. Our founding fathers were nothing like what people portray them as. They wanted what was best for all and cooperated to achieve that.

Franklin walked his talk, and did it very well. He helped others, and he frequently sacrificed his own comfort. Something that people don't even have an idea of how to do today.

If Franklin came to America today he would think that the American public has lost its' mind. The selfishness, hatefulness, and combative attitude would sicken him.

We talk about our Founding fathers, let's see what they were really like, and act like them. They were not in church every Sunday, nor were they stockpiling guns. They weren't standing on crates denouncing the Crown every chance they got. A war was going on and they were finding ways to keep mud out of the market streets, enlightening those who couldn't afford books, and keeping their homes warm. They were helping each other.

They watched out for each other. They helped make the lives of those around them better.

People are right, we DO need to be more like the Founding Fathers, but we need to be what they REALLY were, not our 21st century warped idea of what that was!

Do the right things for the right reasons.

Toss out the ME ME ME for '13

The last few days have been interesting. They have been full of changes, adaptions, and even illness, but all hopefully going to a better place. We are still here. I feel sorry for those duped into hoarding, taking special classes, paying hundreds for special attunements to make it to the next phase of existence. None of it was necessary, and none of it worked. I just have to hope that Karma pays a quick visit to those who make up classes, books, movies, classes all designed to do nothing but suck money out of people's pockets.

The key to coming out on the other side was simple, doing the right things for the right reasons and doing them consistently. That is something most of us were taught as small children.

The answer is not to do things like give to charity every day of the week, but act like a jerk the whole time you are doing it. It isn't about showing up in a pew every Sunday then being a horrible individual every other day of the week.

Simple answers aren't the solution. All answers to all issues are complex. Ones that work the long term are anyway. They all require a profound and PERMANENT change. They all require you to be a different person.

The issue now is, the chance to change is gone for quite a bit of time. It isn't free reign to be a bad person, Karma will be swifter than it used to be, so rights and wrongs will go they way the Universe wants them to. They have been since the Fall Equinox. Everything that has happened since then has happened for a major reason.

Yet the worse , and most common affront is people being selfish. Pure single minded selfishness. These are the people who will notice Karma visiting more often , more decisively and more swiftly in the coming years. They missed out on the rewards of moving to a higher level, and now the righting of wrongs will be even more noticeable, to help teach them lessons.

The" ME ME ME attitude" will slowly be quashed by the Universe. It isn't about you, it is about the Universal populace. It isn't about your rights (or what you think they are), but the rights of all. How do people miss out on that very basic concept? This isn't the United States of You. There are 316 MILLION other people in this country.

People think that prayer in school will make us better people. Your personality, ways of making decisions, attitudes and values are all created BEFORE the age of 5. So you are who you are BEFORE you enter school. Fear of God is not what keeps most people in line, it is fear of the here and now. Parents, police, peers, loss of some sort (job, money).

The person who has the MOST influence on who we will be is the same sex parent, or same sex person who raises you , like a grandparent.

The issues today are complex but all begin and root back to parenting. We are raising a bunch of selfish , terrible people. That is where we need to start with the next generation. Teaching them right from day one. Meanwhile. Forget the ME. Take the ME out of everything you process. Think on a Universal scale!

No more ME ME ME.
