Continuing with email responses.....Muany Ki fact or fraud?

A while ago I wrote on this "class". Many people have taken the classes and swear that they have the ancient rites of Mayans. They have no such thing, as these do not exist. The Native American community has spoken out against the class and its' intentions, rites etc....to no avail.

The NA community among others, has pointed out many issues in the teachings from naming Aztec dieties as Mayan, to showing "ancient writings" in Spanish (the Mayans didn't speak Spanish, but their own language). It was all a farce created in the late 80's in Colorado, begun by an archeologist who was thrown out most of South America and all Mayan gatherings because of his "invention". People traveled to South American and asked about "Munay Ki", the locals and what is left of the Mayans (there are still some Mayan people), were puzzled...what were these white people talking about. They tried to clear things up, they denounced Villoldo, and still , people plopped down hundreds of dollars to receive "ancient attunements" aka "rites".

People who are proponents of the rites say "but it has made me feel so much better", and that is about their only real defense of the "class". When you are an arden believer in these classes, and want to delve into the NA ways, and after plopping down a pretty substantial amount of cash, of course it made you feel better. All of the people who went to fake mediums in the 1800's heard from their dearly departed too. There are many psychological reasons why they feel better...none having to do with having ancient Mayan knowledge.

The fact remains it is not a reality, there are no nine ancient rites (unless the 1980's seem ancient to you), the classes themselves are filled with misinformation that even a basic scholar of NA and Southern American aboriginal studies would know is flawed; you NEVER charge for NA spiritual teachings; and you certainly never charge for entering a sweat lodge.

People want to feel better, they want an answer. Originally this class was held to "ensure" people that they would make the 2012 transition better than others, they would achieve a higher state of being. No one needed this class, or any class to do so.

Do not waste your money on this class. The Native American Indiana Fraud Group has named it as a fraud , and named several of its teachers as frauds. They have also named places that teach it as fraudulent.

http://www.newagefraud.org/smf/index.php?topic=1622.0

People today like to take classes, not just Munay Ki, and call themselves "shaman". First of all there were no shaman in the continental US. There were medicine men , and others, but Shaman did not exist here. You cannot take a class and become a shaman. Shaman is a position that you have to be born to. You have to have skills and talents beyond normal humans. Knowledge beyond normal humans is necessary, and the tribe must name you as such, you don't appoint yourself the position.

Everything about this system is wrong. Historically, ethically, linguistically, methodologically, and traditionally. The good news is, I have seen it fading away, so I was surprised to receive an email on the subject. The reason for the email was that a reader was told to go to an event and researched it before he went becasue it didn't jibe with his knowledge of NA teachings. He was right to trust his gut and not attend the event.

There was a letter on line a few year back that discussed creating the system, but I cannot find a successful link to it anymore (and if I were the people who made this all up, I would destroy that letter also!).

Don't waste your money, and don't waste your time.

When I became a reiki master much changed for me. I know that it did change my life. I can tell you an interesting and true fact. I used to have headaches all the times from a couple of different things. I have not had a headache since I became a reiki master...and that was over seven years ago. I had not even thought about it until someone asked about headaches and reiki the other day.

Choose carefully, and remember that when honestly researching a topic, look to see if there are negative reports on it. Put the words after it that will bring up negative reports such as "authenticity" , "issues", "fraud", "fake", etc. You may be surprised at what you find!

From the "In Box"

I have a had a few people asking questions, and there are some good ones piling up. I have answered people individually, but I usually write a blog about those questions. Life has been so busy lately that I have not been a very active blogger, so I thought I better sit down and write! This one was asked in different forms by three people. The first question has been answered a few times, in past bogs, but maybe not so specifically, so I will go at it again. Always feel free to put words in the search and you will have blogs brought up to read on that "subject".

The first question was "what is the first tool someone should buy to start investigating, an EMF meter or recorder"? EMF meters are tools, that unless you are an expert on your surroundings , and what makes EMF in the first place....are totally useless. They are great in locations where there is no electricity, where you know how to properly use the meter and have eliminated other things that can cause them to go off (like receiving a message on your cell phone). Even then they are not 100% useful. All EMF meters do is measure a fluctuation in the EMF field around you. Guess how many times that happens naturally during the day? Hundreds.

They are NOT communicating devices, we have so many other items to use for that task that are much better suited for it. They are only good to see if something MAY be about to happen. That is it, that is their function. Period. They are not indicators of a spirit in the room. Walking around a building, especially one with electronics in it, and seeing a meter fluctuate means zero. It certainly does not mean spirits are present. It means the EMF field is fluctuating. Even solar flares can cause this. There are wires, phone systems, ceiling fans, microwaves, cell phones (even some cause blips when turned off), 2 way radios, energy transformers, radio/cell towers nearby, power generating systems nearby. Add to that ley lines, running water, solar flares, and other natural sources. Many of those won't set the meter off alone, but how much of a combination of one ot two of the above generally happens at once? Many times.

Not only are there too many other things than can set off a meter, do you know what readings indicated electronics, like a clock radio, rather than a spirit? Do you know what readings may indicate a spirit or not? Generally if you go over 8 , you are seeing electronics. Cell phones for example getting an update or message will read lower, and you think you have a ghostly message when al yo uhave is a loved one asking what time the investigation will be over.

Let's throw something else into the mix. Many times EMF meters will register NOTHING  when there IS paranormal activity going on. It is apparent that some "ghostly" events do NOT set off the meter. Since we aren't always sure where activity is coming from (poltergeist? spirit? negative entity?), we don't know for sure what sets off the meter. Can some evolved spirits cloak that energy? Seems that they can.

Another issue is one I have seen so many times. People walk around all night with their nose buried in the meter, and miss a lot!  Meters are meant to be used for a few seconds. They are to be used to take base readings in the beginning of the investigation, and when entering a room, see if there is a higher reading. When there is , investigate, when there isn't , move on. One investigator on another team said if he has people walk around with a meter all night he kicks them off of the team, becasue he is convinced they are actually afraid to see something subconsciously (and that really is a good point).

All we DO know is that SOMETIMES when there is about to be paranormal activity, these meters fluctuate. Your body (hair standing up, nervous stomach, nausea) is a better indicator than the meter. It isn't always reliable and some people are more sensitive than others, but it is still better than the meter!

When you have a little money and want to try paranormal investigating, buy a voice recorder. When a spirit communicates with you, you will know it! Meters are not an indicator of paranormal activity and frequently miss paranormal events. I have been in a room where a disembodied voice told me to "get out" at a client's home. There were 2 meters working, one only a few feet from me, and one down the hall. Neither registered a blip.

Toss out the meters, or better yet, sell them, and buy some other equipment!

More answers to come in future blogs!

BUSY BUSY BUSY

I have been so busy doing MUNDANE things , I have not had time to write and teach. These are two of my favorite things to do , so it is frustrating. We are renovating a kitchen and took a trip to see my son graduate. Now, onwards and forwards, right? The kitchen has been torn apart for over a month now. It will look great when it is finished, but going through it is frustrating. It doesn't happen overnight like in the TV shows, I can tell you that.

One thing that came apparent after running around, discussing the past,  and juggling so much lately, is that you realize how things that seemed life changing and all important at the time, are now past , forgotten events. We strive sometimes to get something done, right a wrong, make a change, and find that those things have become something in the faded past. That isn't good or bad, depending on what it is, but think about the things you stressed over 5, 10, or even 30 years ago. What happened to those events? You are still alive, and moving forward (hopefully), so were those moments that seemed so important, really that important.

Did it matter you didn't go to the prom with "so and so"; did it matter that the rift in your group, club, organization was a battle with people attacking each other; did it matter that it rained on your wedding day; did it matter that your friend walked away to another life. It mattered them but does it matter now. How often can we say "it wasn't funny then, but it is now"? The answer in my life is OFTEN!

Many things that bring on anger, frustration, sadness.....fade away with time. They say "time heals all wounds", and I believe it is true. Some heal more slowly than others, but the key is healing.

That said, I want you all to try to find one of those instances (you can probably find many), and see how it faded and corrected itself with time, this way when a curve ball comes at you today, you can be older and wiser and let it roll on by!

Love and Light

Did you ever.....

People ask what it is like to be psychic. The assumption is that we know everything about anything all of the time. We don't. We don't always want to know ANYTHING at all. I was taught to keep that door closed unless asked to open it, otherwise it is like peeking in your neighbor's window. I have my abilities set up to where I have to basically turn on the switch to get information. I do however have a deal that if it is important or non disruptive to send the message anyway. The same when dealing with those who have passed. They are also not allowed to wake me up at night.

I was on the phone this morning with a fellow reader who has an issue that most psychics have from time to time. Most of us, if not all (I can't say "all" as I haven't spoken to all psychics), have a wonderfully sharp ability as to sizing people and situations up. We know at least "good" or "bad". Sometimes we know it isn't good , but we have to go through it anyway...just imagine how much fun that is! I have always been able to size up people. I have also always moved forward with people I knew were not going to turn out to be the most pleasent experience, but like they say...there is a reason for everything. Sometimes the "warning" alarm is to let you know to "stay away", sometimes it is to say "be careful, you need to be here, but don't get in too deep".  We have lessons and experiences that we can't know about, we would avoid the lesson if we knew it was going to be one, so that wouldn't work well. We just aren't allowed to know everything.

This morning's discussion was that this fellow reader had friends that just couldn't understand two things about her which were very important to her...and to me also, so hence the blog. They didn't understand why she just didn't resonate well with people they liked, or why she wouldn't allow one woman into her home. Our homes are our places of refuge. The systems we have set up, the protection we have set up, the flow we have set up, is perfect for us there. No outside influences, no negativity, no "bad stuff". We can open up, relax, and keep our sacred space "clean". I have protection around my home, and it is filled with good energy. That said, good energy doesn't always mean people will feel "warm and fuzzy" in that space. Good people who are open to learning will....people with ill intent won't. I need to keep that in place since I do many readings a day from my home, both in person and on the phone.

I think back to a person who a few months ago, told me the sage we burned at a blessing bothered her badly and made her sick...I told her maybe she was allergic. She said that no she was around sage all the time. I then knew it was one of two things, one was she could have a bad attachment, the other is that she wasn't as spiritual as she thought, and the atmosphere I have set up here was making her feel bad to make change. Either way it is a person I knew would not be around much. I was right.

My reader friend had decided to not even allow a person into her home (most of us do not allow just anyone in our homes), and her friends had issue with that. They called her "judgmental" and "negative". People don't understand that just becasue someone seems nice on the outside, they aren't necessarily all rosy on the inside. We have to respect the "alarm" that the Universe has provided us with. It is there for a reason. It is like having your smoke alarm go off at home, and just remaining in your armchair saying "the neighbor must be grilling outside". It is just dumb, to ignore it.

What makes it harder is many of us don't allow the whole world to know what we do. We aren't ashamed , we are just tired of "you will rot in hell" , "tell me what color my underwear is that I am wearing", "please tell me about my ex",  " I will pray for you" (oh please don't), and....you get the idea.

This lady's group of friends are mixed of those who know what she does and those who don't. The ones in the know got it, and didn't make a big deal about it, the ones not "in the know" were the ones calling her names. The funny part is, she is a published author, under her own name of several paranormal books, it wouldn't be hard to figure it out.

Now there is a bunch of drama going on, people in the group invited this woman who makes her alarms go off to a pot luck at her home. A few of them took a cooking class together and they are ready to share with each other. She asked me what I thought she should she do. Good question. This one doesn't have an "easy" answer. When she asked why someone invited the "negative/alarm" lady, she said she just wasn't comfortable inviting her into her home....that is when the drama started.

The only suggestion I could come up with is to ask the Universe to have her kept away without harming her, and for her to also prep the house extra carefully for keeping out negativity. Lots of salt across doorways will keep truly "evil" people out, although truly evil people are few and far between.

People think psychic ability is a gift. It isn't, it is something we all have, and it can be more of a burden than a gift. Especially when you don't feel good about a person who is coming into your home, and you KNOW there is a reason why you shouldn't feel good. My home will make negative people feel badly. That is part of its' protection. I am sure that if this lady does show for the pot luck, she won't stay long....I doubt she will show.

I always trust my instincts about people. Many times the message is "not good but don't worry they will be gone soon". I have only had 2 people I can remember that were a "STAY AWAY" message....and it was clear afterwards why that message came through. The good news is that there aren't many truly evil people walking around.

Meanwhile for all those who don't consider themselves psychic....when you just aren't sure about a person , or feel outright uncomfortable around them, it is OK to say "no". Sometimes you will have to use a great deal of diplomacy doing that, and it usually has a fallout (someone's feelings always get hurt), but when you can see through the mask people wear, there is a reason for that....honor it. This doesn't mean that you have to call them names and throw Holy water at them, but steer clear!

I am waiting to see if the "negative" lady comes to my friend's pot luck. My Spideysense says she won't even show....hopefully I will be able to update you on that.

Always be open to your feelings....and trust them. They may only be for YOU personally, but that is OK!

Metaphysical Terms

This is a reprint of an old blog, but there is still a ton of misunderstanding on what is what, so here it is again!

Many times callers will ask for certain talents, or misunderstand a word used. The sad part is many terms are thrown around by people who don't know what the terms mean, and mislead people. Today for an easy Friday blog before my bi-annual week of rest, I am going to go over some terms.

Here are some terms you have probably heard, but many do not understand:

Querant- A person who asks questions about their situations to an adviser.

Let's talk about the "clairs". The prefix "clair" means "clear" , it is derived from the French language and talks about senses for obtaining information about the future. The clairs also can help some see past and present events. They are words to ONLY be used as describing divination skills.

Clairvoyant- Means "clear seeing" of future events. Nothing else. It means in your minds eye you can clearly see things. It means your messages come to you in visual clues and aspects. This "seeing" is not external, but on a screen in the seer's mind. It is symbols, faces, places, designed to answer questions for a querant.

Clairaudient- Means "clear hearing" of messages for themselves or others. It can be a word, or a sound like wedding bells.

Clairsentient- means "clear feeling", feeling the emotions of others or that the Universe sends as messages to demonstrate how a querant or person they are asking about will feel emotionally.

Claircognizant- Means "clean knowing". When asked a question by a querant, a claircognizant immediately knows the answer as if you asked them their name.

Psychometric - A person who can obtain messages by picking up an object. The energies where the object has been will be read and messages passed on. This is used mostly for past events.

Psychic- A person who is able to get answers from beyond the normal ways and means. A person who uses sharpened intuitive skills to receive answers in order to help others from beyond our normal 5 senses. They can see into the past, present and future and have a "clair" listed above or combination of them. They can get information on the dead although they do not directly converse with the dead. They sense spirits, and energies.

Medium- People who are born with the ability to directly converse with the dead. They can see the dead in different "states" from what they looked like at death to sparks of light. Different mediums see and converse in different ways, but it is always direct and clear. They can ask questions of the dead and get clear responses, these questions do not include psychic information of the future, but about the deceased and their lives and current situations.

Trance Mediums are not conscious of their messages and need to be told them later. Physical mediums allow a spirit to overtake some or all of their physical body to send messages. Mediums do not have to use either of these methods, but can just simply converse.

Psychics and mediums can also sense and communicate with the other beings out there from angels, guides, gatekeepers, to entities on the negative side of things.

Do not confuse this with seeing ghosts. When you think you have seen an apparition, it does NOT mean you are a medium or even psychic. You just caught the right energy at the right time. Anyone with an open mind and lack of fear can see a ghost.

Intuitive- A person who picks up on the energy in an area, which may come with some information, from a feeling to a name. They cannot however ask for information and receive it. They are like a radio, they get what is sent only. Everyone is intuitive, but true initiatives have this skill highly sharpened. They cannot control it, it just comes to them, but the information is still totally valid.

Scrying- Looking into any reflective surface for messages. A method used by psychics. An example is a crystal ball, however some also use water, ice and mirrors.

Tarot- A divination method used by psychics and non psychics. There are 78 cards divided into the major and minor arcana that used archetypes to send messages quickly and clearly.

Prophecy- The gift that allows people to see world events before they occur. They relay messages from higher sources.

Spiritual- A way of living brought about by a belief that there is a Higher Power in this Universe. It is living life knowing that we are here for lessons, and we try to learn them as best we can for hope of moving forward to a state of closeness to that Highest Power in another dimension (sometimes referred to as Heaven).

Remote viewer- A person who can send their mind and sense to another place across the miles to see and hear what is currently going on somewhere else. It is sending one's conscious to another physical place. This may or may not involve psychic activity and people can be trained to do this.

This is just the basics and scratching the surface. There is much more to it, and many more terms, but these are the most commonly tossed around. The sad part is today many WANT to be psychic. It has become popular where it used to be something that you were ridiculed for, even burned to death for. Many take intuition , which we all have, and try to present it as being psychic. Psychics can reach out and find answers, intuitives have information sent to them, if they try to seek information they cannot obtain it.

The hot ticket these days is mediumship. The only real mediums I have met are very pious , pure and genuine people. They have a very bright light around them, it is easy for a psychic (or medium) to spot a fake. Psychics also have a brighter light around them. There is so much to all of this, it is a whole class for another day. My psychic development classes actually have three full days of class schedules.

Don't be fooled by people who don't know the answers to how all this works, only those who are in clear and direct communication with their guides and the other side will have all the answers as to how the metaphysical world works. Metaphysicians will also have many answers but will not be able to describe the experience.

Many today not only fake things, or act things out because they really believe they have a skill, but there are also schizophrenics and other mental and emotional disorders that mimic psychic or mediumship skills. Beware the fakes and mentally ill.

Enjoy your week!

Welcome Spring!

Scientifically, today is the Vernal Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere.Today the equator passes the center of the sun, our tilt starts to go in the opposite direction. Weather is warmer, and the sun's focus adjusts. It is the day half way between the solstices.

Spiritually, today is a wonderful day for new beginnings. It is a day to choose your method of rebirth, and your method of starting anew. Use prayer, spells, manifestation, or just plain old planning, to start off today on a new adventure.

Some of your paths and actions may no longer serve you, and it is a time needed for a new beginning. You may want to start on a new path, just to do so! New paths are always good when their focus is good. Our journey here on earth is meant to be a time of learning and growth. Just because life is going well, doesn't mean we should ever stop learning. take a class, find a new hobby, a new place on  this earth to visit, a new perspective. When our lives are not going well , we need a new direction, new focus, new partner, new job, new attitude.

Here in my part of Indiana, it is still winter. Spring will arrive at 11:57 AM, just in time for lunch! Those of you who have not decided what Newness you will bring into your lives have time to figure out where to start. I am sure that you already have an idea what you want to change.

Make sure that you pick something with as much "newness" to it as possible,  and get started.

When there just isn't something, no matter how hard you try, then either say a prayer, meditate, or put on your thinking cap to come up with the idea today. You may not be able to get started right away, but you can find the starting point! That in itself is a new beginning!

What in your life needs change or adjustment? What is not going as well as it needs to? What have you been thinking of changing for a while now? New beginnings can include ending something, like bad habits, harmful relationships, and overspending, or it can be starting something new,  like a new health regiment,  new hobby, or new class.

Find that newness and start going! Happy spring!!!
For those of you have have not started this already.....in everything you do, remember to: DO the Right things for the Right reasons!

Do unto others, and check up on those who don't

I always say that to keep us out of trouble, one of the best rules of thumb, is the old "do unto others". We don't all like or appreciate the same things, but it is a good guideline, especially once we get into some serious decisions on how we treat others.

If I could turn all the lies told on my behalf into manure I could fertilize the world. Most of that is because I my work sometimes involves a website that allows callers to leave feedback. It is usually an OK thing, but there are always people who just have to try to hurt you. They were hurt by your answer and they need to retaliate that hurt, so they slam you in your feedback. It is a financial hit that is annoying more than anything. I have the blessing of having a large customer base, so even though they do not always leave feedback (some call daily), I still have calls coming in. When readers are new, they do not have that luxury. It can take a wonderfully talented person and knock them right of the site, a person who could have helped many people.

It is to a point where many readers won't take calls from certain callers, or new callers, or people they have a bad vibe about. It is self preservation. I DO know this, we can check on the "reputation" of a caller. It is simple, we Google their screen name. Google is a wonderful thing. When you Google a person and a site, you can see all their feedback....and read it. It is so sad that there are people out there who NEVER say anything positive.

It is hard to get sites to control feedback, many are trying, some have changed their formats so that people cannot make litigious remarks. The site I work on recently warned callers not to make such remarks,as if the reader complains about people saying things like "fake" , then the site will release the caller's information to legal authorities for processing. The anonymity of the internet goes away.People who write nasty, slanderous things can get sued.

The internet has made people who don't have the courage to say anything directly, Bravehearts. They mouth off quite frequently and in a nasty way.

That isn't the end though. When you use a site and you see negativity against anyone, research the person who left the feedback. Do they say the same thing all the time? DO they leave nasty feedback all over the site or all over the net? Then that is not a person who's advice you want. Don't let them tell you who to call, where to eat, or where to stay on vacation.

My husband and I stay at a nice , quiet resort in Sedona every year. One year a flood of nasty feedback was written about the place. This place prides itself on being secluded, quiet , and peaceful. That is why people go there. It is a small place tucked in a canyon where a creek runs thorough. There isn't room for any cars other than at each cabin site, and it is one of the most peaceful places on earth. After reading the nasty feedback I realized it was a group of people who came on to the property, who were not staying there and who participated in a noisy party until they were all thrown out. No guests are allowed on this site, only people registered. No loud parties are allowed, no upsetting the guests who come for the peace and quiet. So here the owners ended up with 7 or 8 nasty write ups by people who didn't even pay to stay there! The VERY sad part is that people who do not know better will read it and not stay there. The loss is to the owners AND the people who didn't get to experience this wonderful place.

Be careful what you read, verify it, check it out. Check it our correctly.

When you see bad feedback, check out the person who left it. Check it out on any site. Yelp is full of nasty people having terrible things to say, and I know the site I work on has mentally and emotionally disturbed callers, plus angry people. Check out the feedback author. Don't allow a negative and hurtful person to keep you from a reader, restaurant, hotel...that may be just perfect for you!

Realize that many use feedback as a weapon. Many who loved the service never write their kudos, so when you do get good service, SHOUT IT OUT!

Do unto others, and as I say....do the right things for the right reasons!
