Not everything is meant to be shared "right now"

I had a person call and ask some really good questions about the metaphysical, and Native American spirituality. She wants to learn all about it, and thought that I gave some really great information at our last drumming. KUDOS! I love people who want to learn!! I answered the questions and then directed them to others for more information.

Some questions I get are very specific and people want to know how to do something that is way out of their depth (and sometimes even mine!). One asked how to form a construct. A construct is basically an energetic being that can be created to perform a certain repetitive task over and over again. Some may have seen them and thought they were zombie like people or mentally ill. They aren't "real" in the sense of you and I , but are energetically real. They are things I personally don't mess with.

You need someone who is an adept at ritual magic (and believe it or not I know two such folks, one was just on Ghost Adventures by the way), and I pointed this person in that direction.

Constructs usually guard ritual areas while the "magician" is away. They do mindless and repetitive tasks well.

The other question was about building a sweat lodge...alarm bells!!! No, I will NOT tell you how to build a sweat lodge. There are two parts to that question, one is structurally how to do it, and the other is spiritually how to do it, just building it without the spiritual end is wrong, wrong, wrong. It is long and complicated, and it isn't for people to do for ha ha's. Some Nations will only allow certain members (like chiefs, medicine people and minor chiefs, like sachems) to build a sweat lodge, although others can assist under their direction. I personally believe that if you have not studied under a Native American mentor, you don't do things like build a lodge. The thread must go back to a Native teacher. That doesn't mean white boys can't build sweat lodges, but only dedicated, tutored white boys can. There should also be several other things that this person has done and participated in that would qualify him to do so (like a Sun Dancer). And helping to build one or watching one being built isn't good enough).

James Ray taught us a valuable lesson. I don't know why sweat lodges have become so hot (no pun intended), but there seems to be a desire for the sweat lodge experience lately. Doing a sweat is SERIOUS, and should be taken seriously. Building constructs is serious and should be taken seriously. Some metaphysical stuff is OK to play around with and experiment with, some is not. Be very careful when treading on another culture's grounds. Want a sweat lodge experience? Go ask (properly) a Native for one. Don't know how to ask properly? Then you don't belong in a sweat lodge yet.

A colleague asked me to mention also, that the lodge is not a place for people with certain health issues. When you can't take the heat of a hot summer day, when it makes your heart pound (or you have heart issues), dizziness, breathing issues or hydration issues, such as kidney problems...or pregnancy...the lodge is not the place to be.

Constructs are hard to impossible to undo. There is a reason for that which is inherent in their being and structure, so make sure you want this being around you FOREVER.

Know the seriousness and permanence of whatever you do. Make sure that you aren't stepping on anyone's toes. Make sure that you really know what you are doing, that requires RESEARCH, as in proper research...

Work your way up to these things. Many times the answer is not "no", but rather "not yet". It, many times, takes years for study to work up to certain things, and gain the right amount of knowledge and direct experience.

Just like you wouldn't perform surgery on yourself, leave the big important stuff to knowledgeable people. Just like you would not let a person who isn't a certified surgeon do your surgery, don't allow someone who "just watched it many times" or "read it in a book" do serious procedures for you. Obtain knowledgeable, seasoned, serious, and certified people for the work.

People think Ouiji Boards are harmless, after all aren't they a toy ? Far from it, there is no reason to EVER mess with such a thing. Tell it that its' door is closed for ever, then burn it and bury it. (The new plastic ones are of course hard to burn, so just bury it).Even seasoned professionals stay far away from Ouiji boards. They have the knowledge, power and gatekeepers to keep the ugly from using that wide open door, but they don't bother, because there are other better, safer ways to do so. (that is the type of knowledge and experience you need).

Know what you are getting into, and know the seriousness of things. Not sure, ask. Not sure who to ask? Ask me, and I will gladly point you in the right direction!

Have a great weekend!!!
