My way or the highway.
How often have you received that kind of response from someone? The answer should be "never" because we all should know better than to be associated with people like that. There are times when there are ways something should be done, but rarely do these words rise in those instances. They arise because someone wants their way, and doesn't want to hear your perfectly good argument why they can't have it their way.
There was only one time in my life when I heard a version of these words. I don't hang out with bullies nor even begin to condone their behavior, so I don't get into those situations. I told the person who said the words....then have fun doing this alone. It was my boss, and after working 10 hours in the Las Vegas heat without a break, I was walking inside to get a drink. She said "If you do not pick up this person right now, I will get someone who can." Funny words from a person who worked in a branch staffed by two people, me and her. I told her, I am getting a drink of water, and if you get in my way, you are not going to be happy, then have fun doing this alone. I went and got my drink. I then when and picked up the person, and quit the next day. When the big boss found out what happened, she was fired, after all, if I passed out driving a customer back from their home....
Never , ever give in to threats. It may mean not doing something at all because you want to walk away, but it is always better in the long run. General principal says we should never give in to bullies anyway.
The opposite side of this is not to threaten or coerce anyone. Do not make idle threats, and when you give ultimatums, be prepared for people to accept them. So many clients give ultimatums that they will leave their partner, the partner says, "ok go", and they never really wanted the partner to go. Now the relationship is permanently damaged. The partner may be totally fed up, or will never listen to your ultimatums again.
We are not here to make people do what we want them to do. We can counsel, teach, ask, and even debate, but in the long run, you have to allow people to make the decisions that they want to make and act on them. No one rules this universe that lives on this planet!
Do the right things FOR THE RIGHT REASONS!

Books
People are always writing asking, "What book should I read for_____"?
The blank is filled by many things metaphysical, and some not. I am a voracious reader. I LOVE books...There are MANY books on these subjects, but these are good to get started. Here are a couple of suggestions I have made lately:
Little daily positive focus statements:
Messages from the Universe- Mike Dooley
Parapsychology:
It is old, but still a great book to read, then read more current info:
ESP, Hauntings and Poltergeists- Loyd Auerbach
Reiki:
Reiki a Comprehensive Guide- Pamela Miles
Reincarnation:
Life Beyond- Hans Holzer
Tarot History:
Encyclopedia of Tarot- Stuart R Kaplan (there are several volumes)
Tarot card definitions:
The Tarot Directory- Annie Lionnet
The Tarot - Cynthia Giles
Crystals:
The Crystal Bible Vol 1 & 2- Judy Hall
Metaphysical explained by String Theory or other scientific means-
The Field- Lynne Mc Taggart
Psychology and the Occult- C Jung
Jung The Mystic-Gary Lachman
Your guides, helpers, etc.
Spirit Allies- Christopher Penczak
Focusing on the now, not worrying-
The Power of Now- Eckhart Tolle
Science/metaphysics of the afterlife:
Spook- Mary Roach
These are just ones to start with, if you read all of these you will have a great basis for what goes on, however I would also recommend reading books from other cultures like the Tibetan Book of the Dead, The Tao Te Ching, Bhagavad Gita, etc. When you try to operate from any one specific viewpoint whether Christianity, Judaism, etc., you miss much, this also pertains to Native American spirituality, you need to really see things from a whole different perspective to understand it well. That doesn't mean feeling sorry for the Native Americans, it means seeing things from their viewpoint, which in many times is VERY hard for non- Natives.
There is a whole world out there, and books open the door to it.
One more thing to toss in on the mundane side.
Mysteries with a little humorous twist:
Read the series by Martha Grimes featuring Richard Jury.
When you want to learn a bit of the Navajo culture while reading crime novels:
Read Tony Hillerman's books with Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee.
Then there is the King, Stephen King. He is one of the best story tellers out there..actually THE best. When horror isn't your thing, he has other books to tantalize you. The Dark Tower series for science fiction lovers, or books like ,The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, Under The Dome, The Green Mile or Lisey's Story. They are about people and situations far out of the ordinary, but still in the here and now of this world.
Read...learn and grow!

More reader questions!
OK, some more reader email came in that are hard to make "whole blogs" out of, so we will just round them all together and make a "miscellaneous" blog! Here we go!
How can you tell if an EVP is residual or intelligent? You cannot always know for sure. The best way is to think about what is going on in the EVP session. When in doubt, however, call it residual. When you are having an EVP session and you ask something (like I did at Villisca), "How many spirits are here in the room?", and get the answer "one" . That is intelligent. I went on to ask if it was female...no answer, and asked how many male spirits, and again have an EVP saying "one".
I have EVPs of singing and drumming (Whispers) or babies crying (Carpenter House). They are usually residual. They are just going on no matter if I am there or not. When you get a voice, do not try to make the reply fit your questions. I have seen people with EVPs and Spirit Boxes do more creative/on the spot writing, than Stephen King. When it doesn't fit, it is OK, it is still an EVP, just call it residual.
The other factor for determining is, if you have a psychic or medium with you who tells you that there is an old woman who is angry, and you get an old woman voice saying "get out" you know it is probably intelligent. When there is no male spirit detected and you hear a male voice say "Let's go now!", you know it is probably residual.
Where is the scariest place you have ever been?
My haunted bedroom as a ten year old.
Since then, I have bumped into "bad stuff" in a cemetery in Indiana, and a clearing in the woods used for who knows what. A big Black Shadow Person strolling down my hallway in NM scared the crap out of me, but that is because I thought someone had broken into my house. That house was creepier than the one I grew up in.
Things have startled me (things moving and your name being chanted over and over being the creepiest), but flat out scared, not since I was a little kid. Things can make me uncomfortable, but that allows me to know that there is "negative" stuff going on, and now that I know how to address it, it isn't so scary anymore.
People local to IN / KY, try Waverly, it has some creepy moments!
What was the most interesting class you ever took?
Reiki (all three levels)
Ever see a full body apparition?
Sure, several times, most recent one was who I assume was Willard Carpenter in Evansville.
Do animals always react to ghosts?
No. Sometimes they just think they are another person in the room. It depends on the intelligence and temperament of the animal, and how the spirit reacts to it, just like a real person.
How many metaphysical/spiritual classes have you taken?
That is a tough one. That I can think of off the top of my head...ten different classes that were major ones, or ones that went on for several days. There was also 2 years spent on my Masters and Doctorate. Short ones...day or less, I have NO idea!
Have you ever studied mediumship?
I have taken a class, but don't feel that I got anything from it. I know I have had spirits come and talk to me twice in my life, both times I was not ready, and it scared me half to death, maybe the third time will be a charm.
I read the Tao te Ching every day to keep positive. Is there another book that is great for quick pick me ups?
Notes From the Universe- Mike Dooley
How long have you been doing psychic work?
I began helping others at age 11, although I was psychic when I was born.I began working part time in the metaphysical eight years ago, and have worked full time in the metaphysical for almost Seven years. So, over 40 years.
That is it for now!
Keep the questions coming in!!!

Don't wait for the Universe to fix it!
One of the hot topics in the news is the Penn State sexual abuse scandal. The NCAA sent a strong message including sanctions against the school. Some do not understand why the whole program is punished because of the acts of one man. Simple answer. There may have been sexual acts by one man, however it was either actively or passively condoned by many.
About 30-40 years ago collegiate sports was a hot topic. There were schools that were doing anything and everything to get prime players and win games. Why? Trophies? Bragging rights? No. Money. Sponsorship. New buildings, and bigger salaries for those who ran the schools. It was a trickle down effect at its' best (or worse). There was a big crackdown, and much, but not all, of that big money manipulation when down the drain. The rules today are much different than years ago.
Now we have a totally different issue. A man who used the football program as his own little harem for sexual deviancy. The problem is, when you have a person like that in your presence, you have a huge problem. He (or she) needs to be immediately, totally, and completely cut out of the program, and prosecuted. There are no other correct options. Penn State chose to look the other way at first, then they tossed him out, but allowed him access to the stadium, fields, and showers where he committed his crimes! Just to save face! The face saving was due to wanting to keep that $50 million or so per year flowing into the Penn State coffers, not something to sneeze at, but you cannot put a price on a young person being abused.
Investigations show what anyone with common sense knew all along. Other people knew, they tried to put a band aid on things. They told other people in the circle, but no one did a THING to stop more children from being abused. Their focus was SAVE THE MONEY, instead of SAVE THE KIDS!
Abusers FREQUENTLY choose jobs and volunteer positions that put them in constant presence of young people. They are your teachers, coaches, scout leaders....it is a shame what they do to the reputation of all the really good people who want to help kids, but they are most usually in these types of positions.
Years of trying to sweep the problem under the rug made more and more opportunity for more boys to be abused. Jerry Sandusky was in heaven. Money, young boys, and a literal playing field for his obtaining and enjoying his perversion. The problem is that others facilitated that abuse. Not because they agreed with it or would do it themselves, but for the almighty dollar.
The fact that many at Penn State are taking an attitude of "we are being punished unfairly" shows what a hold collegiate sports has at these big money colleges. The NCAA came down on Penn State hard, but it had to. It would be a crime for them not to be punished. I know the ones who are there now may have done nothing, but this guarentees there will not be another Jerry Sandusky, or big money shenanigans at Penn State, or any other school ever again. No other child will ever suffer for a group of people to roll in the dough ever again in big college sports.
Simply, when there is child abuse even suspected, it is the legal duty of all who are in knowledge to report it to higher authorities. When and if nothing is done,it is their moral and legal obligation to report it to legal authorities. This was not done. Everyone thought they could control Jerry Sandusky so he wouldn't hurt more children. They were dead wrong, and they cost not only the peace and protection of these boys, but Penn State its' winning titles.
Don't be mad that the media, or the NCAA, or the world. Be angry with Jerry Sandusky and anyone who turned their head while he abused children.
The Universe always allows us opportunity to make good, to right wrongs, and to be better people. When we fail year after year, the hammer comes down hard. It just did. If this ensures that no other child will be abused in the name of big football money, I am all for it. Maybe someday Penn State fans will understand why it was so important and that they weren't treated unfairly. Maybe one day they will understand the severity of this and how all the others named in all of this literally "dropped the ball". Scholastic child abuse is so regulated that, "dropping the ball" gets you in jail, and fired. Every one of them, it is the way it works, because without all the others turning their heads, Jerry Sandusky would not have had his playground to abuse others. Without them turning their heads, he would have been in jail, where he belongs, a long time ago.
As for Joe Paterno, actions speak louder than his words. He held the power to put an end to it all in a swift, strong manner. With 1 minute on the clock, and the game in his hands, he dropped the ball. When he had a chance to live up to his words for his boys, he didn't do what he always told them to do, he put on his blinders and allowed things to go on.
Do the right thing for the right reasons, and don't wait for the Universe or for someone else to "take care of it". Each day you allow a child to be abused, is a day of hell for that child. Child abusers are the lowest form of life on this planet. NEVER allow, condone, or look the other way . NEVER. There is zero tolerance, and a damn good reason for that. No one was treated unfairly here except the victims.
Go Universe!

Why doesn't the Universe listen???
I was asked several times over the past 5 days , "Why doesn't the Universe listen?" , in some way or another. It does! It listens all too well! The issue is, "do you know how to speak to the Universe?"
It is of course much easier to see things from the outside looking in. We have a hard time seeing ourselves as making mistakes or having faults, if we did and we truly were working to make our lives better , it would happen. Everyone who asked the question really thought they were doing things to make their lives better. They were reading all the books by the gurus like Dr. Wayne Dyer, and getting their messages for the day sent to their email boxes. Yet when it came to putting that all into practice, they fell flat. Why? Actions speak louder than words.
Two of the folks who asked for help wondered why a good man has not come. They both are making the same mistake. They are accepting in the ones who aren't what they want , and trying to tweak them into being the ones they want. It may be desperation, or impatience, or both. They are wasting time and energy taking men who are "so-so" accepting them into their lives for months and in one case, years, and then they keep sending them away because it isn't working. Then they are talking to them to tell them what is wrong, then taking them back. Guess what happens next? Finding faults, sending them away, taking them back. They kept repeating that pattern.
First of all, you cannot talk a man into being faithful, being in love, being different. Impossible. When they are working to fit more into a new mold of partner instead of single, you can coach them by telling them it hurts you when they do certain things (like stay out all Friday night with the boys each week), but you cannot take an unfaithful man and make him faithful by nagging him into it. Secondly, if it needs major work, it isn't the right relationship for you, move on.
The Universe happily allows what you accept, it MUST be what you want. You SAY you want better, but you keep accepting worse. These clients didn't understand why "not so nice people" seem to have better lives. Why do they qualify other people's lives as better? Because they have a husband. I am sorry, but there are tens of thousands of women out there that will tell you that they are having huge marital issues, from being sorry they married that particular man to being physically abused. When you see marriage as the goal, and not not what kind of marriage and to what kind of person, and then BE that person, guess what you get? A warm body. When your goal is marriage, you get married, but to what?
Just becasue some seemingly "evil witch" is married to a seemingly "nice guy", doesn't mean the reality is that her life is wonderful and she is happy (apparently she isn't or she wouldn't be such a witch). It also doesn't mean that she is an evil witch, or an evil with to him.
When you want quality, you have to wait for it, it doesn't drop out of the sky. When you want quality, you have to be it. The lady may seem like a crabby old witch to you,she may not be to him, or he may have simply asked for a marriage, and see what he got! You can't know the intricacies of the situation or what people were unconsciously manifesting since they don't even know!
Our unconscious manifesting is stronger than our conscious one, unless we are really cognizant of what we are doing, have total faith in it, and know how to ask for things. The reason is that our unconscious is very strong, it is what we really believe, and what we are to the core. It is powerful, constant and loud. It can speak over the conscious. That is why many ail at manifesting. There are may reasons manifesting fails, but the reason never is the Universe. It is never at fault, it does exactly what you tell it to do. When the conscious and unconscious are on the same page, miracles happen.
Remember that like attracts like, so be the best you can be, have total faith, be specific without being ridiculous (does her really HAVE to be over 6 foot if he is Prince Charming? Really?), be literal, and exact (don't say "send me a nice guy"). Don't settle, you MUST be able to be independent to get the best of the best. A partner is not there to COMPLETE you , they are there to COMPLIMENT you. You need to complete yourself. Be realistic. Be honest with yourself.Remember that these things take time (took me six years to find my wonderful hubby), and that relationship partners are the LAST thing that the Universe is looking to work with you on. There are much more important things in the scheme of things to be accomplished. We do need to procreate, and we sometimes need partners to help do the work in our lives (I mean spiritual work, not laundry), so partners are important, but although to you, having a romantic partner may be all consuming, to the Universe it is the last thing on the list. Working on YOU is the first thing.
So what are you really manifesting? When you accept any man, just to have one while you wait, you are showing the Universe you will settle. When you keep taking ex's back that didn't serve you well the first time, you are showing the Universe you are willing to keep recycling the old, even if it isn't working. You cannot trick, scheme and talk your way into a perfect relationship. It takes TWO people willing to flat out do anything for the other, without that, you have nothing. You cannot be totally enamoured with a person who is not totally into you and expect to be able to make it work, at least not for more than 5 minutes.
Be the best you can be, be patient, and look for a partner, not a movie character.

Babies are not pawns, back to the mundane
There seems to be a trend of thinking that having a man's baby will make him commit. I can just about guarantee you, that commitment because you are pregnant, will NOT happen. So many women are upset because the man didn't stick around. Then they have a small child on their hands that they have to attend to by themselves physically, emotionally, mentally and financially.
When a man isn't ready for commitment to one person, he most certainly isn't ready for commitment to two people. When he thinks he can't afford to support a woman, he certainly cannot support a woman and child. Forcing or tricking a man into a commitment will not make him be a better partner. It will make him resent you. When they aren't ready, they aren't ready.
When you bring a child into the world, you have to be fully prepared to take care of that child. So many times I hear women complain that a man who had no desire to be a father or committed, isn't being a good father, or contributing. Really? That is a surprise? When you add in the fact that he resents being "forced" into a partnership, and it costs him a chunk of money via supposrt, he will be less likely to want to be around you, not more likely.
A child's biggest influence is the same gender parent, since you cannot guarantee the gender of your child, don't start its' life out at a disadvantage. When you want to have a child, there are many ways to do so, and some people that would be glad to help you, as long as you sign off responsibility. However having a child to get a man is the worst idea out there.
Children are not pawns in your relationship. That goes beyond birth to visitation schedules, and divorce. "Talking a parent down" during divorce is extremely harmful to the child and will eventually backfire on you in the long run. Never put down the other parent in front of the child, EVER. It does serious life long harm, and only makes you feel better for a moment.
Children are not pawns....they are not pawns to form a commitment, to make you feel better, to use against an ex, or to lure them back. When we switch over to the spiritual side of things, it is an even worse idea. God/Creator/the Universe isn't amused at one of its' precious creations being used to do your dirty work.
Leave children out of any unhealthy or broken relationship, at least love them that much! nd a final note, if YOU cannot afford to have them, then DON'T.

Questions from readers
I had a couple of questions from readers on different subjects. I like to share these since sometimes others have the same thoughts and do not write in.
1) Do you totally reject all "communication" by flashlight and K2?
Basically yes, they are not communication devices. There are communication devices to be used, use them. If it is a twist flashlight, then the "evidence" to me is ZERO, I would totally discount it. Same goes for K2, is is able to pick up other things. Also , as I said a couple of blogs ago, even if a spirit energy is manipulating a K2, how do you know it isn't just something messing with you? Go back and read that blog for more information on that.
2) When is the new moon for July?
TODAY
3) They say like attracts like. What about ugly girls getting nice, sexy guys?
First of all the Universe sees everyone as physically beautiful, maybe humans could take a page from that book. The phrase is talking about like ENERGY. Like energy attracts like energy. So bad negative people attract negative people. Happy people attract happy people. Altruistic people attract altruistic people. Looks have nothing to do with it...and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
4) Why don't you allow people 18 and under to go on ghost walks?
A few reasons. First of all, when out wandering around, you may go onto someone's personal property. If they call the police on you, you can be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor (even if you are the parent). It isn't worth it. If you are where you don't have permission to be, that is just part of the charges that can be brought against you.
There is another reason. Sometimes you run into bad stuff. Now that goes two ways. There are times when myself and other people who are out doing these investigations, run into "bad stuff". There are two kinds of "bad stuff". One is everyday stuff, like people who are drunk, high; people who are making/selling drugs; animal issues; crazy people issues, and people hiding/squatting . They aren't always friendly. Some investigators have been shot at by drug manufacturers. Some have almost been run over by dealers trying to get out once they were spotted. There is no reason to involve anyone in this, especially children and young adults.
It is also dangerous out there in a purely physical sense. Cemeteries have fallen stones that you can trip over. There are snakes, spiders, ticks. Recently a stone fell on a boy and killed him. Old buildings have floors you can fall through, and things to trip over or get hurt on.
That being said , there is "bad stuff" out there in the spirit realm. That is more rare than the issues listed above, but it is out there. I have bumped into these things twice. I was able to protect the people with me, and back off successfully each time. What if a person with no knowledge or skills bumped into one of these beings? It could get VERY ugly, very fast. Bad enough if you make your decision to go , but what if you took your child and something "bad" happened? It isn't worth it. I have seen people grabbed, scratched, hit and knocked down. Your child may be all gung-ho and "Zakified" to go ghost hunting, but when they get scratched and punched by something they can't see, it may do damage beyond the physical.
Another reason is, it is all fun and games watching ghost hunting on TV, but when you find yourself alone or even with another person in the woods at night, things feel a lot scarier than they do when you are sitting on your couch. Some kids are great at it, but it really isn't worth the chance. One Zak fan who was 15 went with his Dad ghost hunting....he didn't sleep in his room for 4 months...and nothing "bad" happened. He would probably still be sleeping in his Dad's room if there was a scary event!
The two times I bumped into these nasty things were in places that I had been to several times before, without a problem, so don't think that going to a place you have been to that was "safe", is still safe.
5) What is the easiest way to stop getting all upset about things?
There isn't an easy way...all take time and training yourself. However the way that requires the least pomp and circumstance has two steps. One, live in the moment. When you start replaying the past, or getting upset over it, immediately take focus on the moment. Think about every little thing. Turning the doorknob as you walk through a door, looking at the door, was it painted another color once? It sounds silly, but refocusing your mind and making it check every detail of the RIGHT NOW, will make you focus on the now, so much so, the past cannot sneak in. The same goes for the future. Planning is fine, worrying requires the same "in the moment" focus.
The second half of that is having faith. You need to practice having faith. For some this requires weekly church meetings, or even bi-weekly. Some require a walk in nature, or meditation, or all of the above. The means doesn't matter. Just do it! Once you realize that everything important that happens, happens for a reason, and that the Universe is in control. You will be OK.This is harder to do for some folks than step one, but it is amazing what peace it brings. Learn from everything that happens. Watch for patterns, and when change occurs, accept it. Events that seem terrible in the moment end up being good things in the end. Even when they are a lesson. When we learn from them, we won't repeat the negative feeling event.
Keep sending questions!!!
