What are real psychics like?

A client asked, what real psychics are like," you know, as people"?

The answer, is "like everyone else, but they seem a little luckier"....when you meet us, the professional psychics, the ones that only work in the metaphysical world. The sane ones. The "educated to the ways of what should be", psychics, you will see far from the stereotype. You won't have a clue as to what we do for a living.

When you see drama, ego, and flamboyance. When you see a need for attention, a lot of talk, and a desire to always "butt in" and give "information". You aren't seeing genuine. Most people don't have a clue as to what I do all day. I do around 30-40 readings every day; drop things on a dime if someone needs help like a cleansing; teach metaphysical classes; send out reiki for healing/ give reiki treatments; learn all I can from experts and new information that gets put out there. I also frequently "hunt ghosts"; participate in a pow wow drum; teach tai chi.

I don't put up a neon sign saying "look at me". That is the LAST thing true psychics do. They know that helping is to be done the right way, not for attention or accolades. They know that perpetuating a stereotype is harmful to us all and is what makes people NOT believe. We walk around like ordinary people, living ordinary lives. We just get more insider info than the average person, and hopefully we listen (I don't always listen and suffer for it every time).

We don't dress in hoop earrings and gypsy style clothing; we don't make comments on social networking sites like "I feel there is an earthquake coming"; we don't make comments "after the fact" that cannot be verified, just to talk and get attention; we don't act all spacey or all holy. We don't have pictures of ourselves all looking spacey or Stevie Nicks (know what I mean, the "pretty witch" look???). We are ordinary people with a little bit bigger antenna than others. Everyone has the antenna, but when people try to play psychic, it makes us nuts. We try so hard to be respectable and act sane, and just when we are starting to be believed and trusted, some idiot rips people off by telling them they have a black cloud that needs to be removed or starts spouting information that they know can't be verified to get attention. They give out "free info" that isn't asked for that no one can say is not true, just to get attention.

True psychics NEVER seek attention. It is something we are NOT supposed to do. We are supposed to help. Some help on a level of a John Edwards or Sylvia Browne, and that is OK, they are trying to reach a wide audience, they don't do it for the attention. People who do it for attention are usually ones who aren't getting any because they aren't good and because they are having issues in life, usually including money and relationships. Karma gets them sooner or later.

Psychic information should be passed in private. Not on website or social networking site, that is simply saying "look at me". When you have a message for someone, call them, email them, knock on their door, don't post it on Facebook or tweet it.

The people who are good at what they do and live life according to the messages they get have a stable life. Their bills get paid, they are happy, generally healthy, and don't have relationship drama. When someone has a mess of a life, don't go to them for psychic or spiritual advice. They are the LAST person you should go to. They can't even hear to their guides they are going to be able to talk to yours?

Doing psychic work is a challenge. It is work filled with protecting oneself energetically, emotionally, and spiritually. There is a lot to it, you don't just pass on things that pop into your head. The things that enter there can be your own thoughts, ego, or "forgotten info". They can be misleading or harmful messages passed from several sources, including mischievous spirits. You need to know what you are doing. I tell people when they are wrong, it may hurt their feelings, but hopefully it will teach them something. There is a long list of psychic ethics that most people who spout things off don't even know exists.

Then there are the genuinely crazy people. They hear voices alright. Voices that can be quieted by the right meds. They think it is all authentic, and it isn't. There are ways to verify , and protect oneself.

True psychics will also know a psychic or medium when they meet them (and it does NOT have to be in person). I can tell BS a mile away, and there is a TON of BS out there. I don't tolerate BS for a second either.

True energy workers take classes from certified and authentic people. They do the work (and the homework so to speak). They always strive to learn in a formal way or an informal way.  I have several real psychic friends on Facebook. I NEVER see them "give information" on postings on anyone's page. They are authentic. Authentic in this "job" means you NEVER look for attention. A couple of us have graduated from one of only two institutions that exist (who are accredited), that give degrees in the metaphysical. Both insist on a ministerial degree first, and one on a degree in any other subject first (mine is a BA in psychology). Someday(hopefully), this will be something that many colleges offer.

So dear client, we are like anyone else, but more and more these days we are surrounded by "wanna be s",  "think I am s" and pure crazy people. Psychics have become popular, and now everyone wants to be one. I was one when I was born, and it sure wasn't "cool" , after decades of doing readings for people, at least I now can do ONLY metaphysical work, and for that I am truly grateful to the Universe. It took me a long time, but I found my place in the world, and with a husband and friends that accept me and trust me. We live, laugh, cry, share, play, help, and most of all TEACH.

Be authentic, be trained, and DO THE RIGHT THINGS FOR THE RIGHT REASONS!!
