What do you stand for???

There is one important thing in life. Energetically, and in the mundane sense. Know who you are and what you stand for. It is pretty simple, but there are a few people out there, who just can't manage to do it.

I know people who rant and rave about how bad something is one day and promote it the next. They get caught up in pithy postings on social networking sites, and post them because they think they are cute, funny, political, or make them look like they have a strong stand on something. The next day, the opposite is posted. All they look is confused.

There are people who post, blog, say a million things about being of a certain belief, background or culture, and yet they really don't have a clue if they really are. They don't know their ancestry, yet they claim one. I know a person who strongly advocates for a certain background and poses as being from that background, yet is adopted and doesn't know what his background is at all. It is OK to support a group, but don't pretend to be one .

It is amazing that there are people out there who jump on any bandwagon, grab any new idea, adopt any slogan, devour any hyped up hoax out there, even if they all contradict each other. I can understand not being the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree, Barnum told us there was a sucker born every minute. But HOW can you not know what you stand for? Maybe they do know and are just trying to look "cool" to all the groups.

Do you know what that does energetically? It makes a serious swirl of pure mess. People wonder why their lives are so dramatic, changeable, and chaotic. They create it. You can't live a life of pro choice and protest health care that includes birth control. You can't be pro "pot" and against drugs on Indian reservations. Two things diametrically opposed cannot exist in the same space. This creates energetic confusion, drama, and chaos.

From the Greek Suda, "know thyself". There is no reason to make a mess of your life, or to look hypocritical. It is good to know what you believe in and give energy to that in a healthy way. It makes you more productive, positive, and focused.

If you don't know what you stand for, you stand for nothing.

(A little side not on a similar subject we frequently discuss. There are hoaxes that go around in email and social networking sites all the time. The most recent is a story about baby Lylah Rose that makes absolutely no sense. There is no reason to pass stuff like this around in the first place. May times with hoaxes, it is a photo of someone's child who had nothing to do with any of it. Think of the parent of that child. Check it out before passing it on!)
