Questions on reiki answered

I was asked a few good questions yesterday, some were the same, but they were all on healing and spirituality.

The first question was asked/sent in by a few people and to paraphrase "so reiki masters are supposed to live different lives"?

Yes, they are. You can just take Reiki I , and hopefully it will change your life. Hopefully you will actually use it to heal yourself and others, hands on, but that is just a small part of the whole. When you begin that journey, Reiki I should open your eyes to things about energy, healing, and trust. It is about giving up your ego, and realizing you have no power, the power to heal doesn't come from us, but from Universal, divine energy, and we are just the channel. We have to then trust, have faith, and "let go and let god", in order to help heal others.

When you don't live that, and own that, you can't do reiki. When you truly live that and own that, you don't worry about who voted for what, abortion laws, races, immigration, money, anything. You KNOW that when you do the right thing, the right things will happen to you and around you. You know better than expect to not have lessons, but for the most part your life is very good, AND the days that aren't, you have the faith and attitude to make them good too. You still find things to be thankful for, and have a positive attitude.

I would hope that once you make it through Reiki II and to a Reiki Master all that is a "walk in the park". It is easy, done without thinking, and a constant. Will you have a bad day? Maybe. I haven't had a bad day in a long , long time. I have had people upset me for a short period, but I do what I need to do and move on. I drop people out of my life who are harmful to me in any way. I allow people to drift away who aren't clicking with me anymore, after all that is part of hte Universal plan, and I allow new people in. It all works out for the best. I make and keep healthy boundaries with people and other aspects of life.

The other question asked by a few was , again paraphrasing "are there a lot of people out there who have taken reiki and don't have a clue about life". The answer to that is unfortunately yes also. I was in a restaurant the other day and there was a loud, obnoxious woman behind me. She was running staff all over, including going back into the garbage to get food for her dog. She most likely had a few too many "bloody marys" that she complained were spicy (they are supposed to be spicy), and on and on. I had tuned her out, and then all of a sudden I hear her marveling that she did reiki on her dog and how well it worked. She didn't know reiki worked on dogs. Really? Who was your reiki teacher? Either they didn't have a clue, or you weren't paying attention. I thought , oh please God, no more flaky reiki people!!

So, yes, they are out there and they are people who take the classes because they think they will be interesting, or fun, or will give them some status, or they will make new friends....but they never get to the essence of reiki, to help all living things. The same thing happens with people who become online ministers. It gives them a "title" and something to do. It took me 6 months of classes, and that was fast (I had to do quizzes, tests, and more and got those done right away). Some people take longer. Some people buy a certificate on line. Real ministers will have to fill out reports and be registered as ministers legally. They will have cards, and have to be up to date on dues, and paperwork.

I do want to digress a little and mention something about reiki. I do call it a "healing" modality, and it is,however some people think that means it will make people better no matter what, like the faith healers claim to do. It does not always do that and there is a good reason, it is a process that is always for the person's highest good. It is up to God, the Universe, the Highest Power, to decide what that healing will be. No human has the ability to understand why that person has that affliction and if anything needs to be done, or should be done. The Universe does.

Sometimes what is for our highest good is not what we personally want.

Reiki is excellent for helping people pass over peacefully. It won't necessarily heal them in any way if they have a terminal disease, but it will help them to relax, accept, and be in a peaceful and ready state for their passing. Reiki is not a panacea for what we want, but for what we need.

So yes, Reiki masters do have to live life differently, but they will automatically do that if they "get it". It won't be something they need to think about, or at least hopefully not, but people have slipped to that point. The same goes with practices from the Far East, like tai chi. Tai chi is about the moment, moving energy around now to help, heal, relax. It is about trusting Universal energy and the manipulation of it, to bring about better health. It works wonders. Most Eastern modalities are about living in the now. When you are practicing them, you don't worry about the future, or politics, or what your ex is doing, you live in the NOW. It is a great place to live, and takes practice.

No one should be teaching tai chi, reiki or any spiritual modality who is generally upset, angry, frustrated with life or the world. No one should be teaching any spiritual endeavor that does not "get it". Not everyone should be taught it either, like the lady in the restaurant (or maybe it was her teacher's fault). Reiki masters can drink, and laugh, and cut up, but all the while they are in a place that is positive, loving, helping and teaching.

We think because someone has taken a class or has a title like "reki master" it makes them special. It should in a way, but unfortunately since anyone can take classes in anything, it doesn't.

Reiki will work , always, no matter who is giving it. But would you rather get your medicine form an up to date source with a clean glass of water, or outdated, low quality medicine from a dirty cup with muddy water.....you get the picture.
