Energy, send out the right kind

I have probably written 5 or 6 blogs asking people not to spread email rumors. You know what I am talking about, those sensational things that appear in your mailbox, trying to get you upset in some way or other. Many good people find it hard to believe that there are people out there who would waste their precious time coming up with this crap. Yet, there are. Way too many in fact.

I received and email sent to a group this morning that wasn't a rumor, but a person saying...check Snopes, this isn't true! Ah a kindred soul. Many don't want to offend the sender , so they just delete the offensive email. Let's take a second out of our busy days and check this stuff out. Get the "false rumor" link and send it back to the sender. REALLY don't have the time to check, then at least send an email back asking "Did you verify this before sending it? It sounds pretty fishy to me.".

When I went to the rumor sites this morning to see if there was a "latest rumor" out there, I noticed that there were a few different reasons these rumors pop up. People hate a person (usually a political figure), and they want you to hate them too, so they twist words , or attribute a "letter about (fill in the blank: Americans, religions, etc), to a famous person so it will give it some weight. The other way these rumor mail come to being, is that people misunderstand (and believe me , God created a LOT of stupid people) a situation, become upset about it, and spread their misinformation all over the place. Others just think it is funny to see how long their creation takes to circle back to them, or appear on social networking sites. It is almost a contest to see who gets their crap posted on Facebook or Myspace first.

The worst part isn't the misinformation. The worst part is the MASS negative or hateful energy it puts out there. Anger, fear, frustration, sadness, are all things that we need a lot less of in this world right now. The energy around us affects us.

There ARE things we need to be shaken up about. It is OK to post true, negative things, it may cause positive change. It is great to post TRUE positive things. However, there rarely is any of those flying around the net. People swim in this drama, this anger and upset, then wonder why their lives are a mess. It isn't just an email, but the personality of people who thrive on passing that stuff around, who thrive on that energy. They bring it to themselves in the email rumor passing, and in their every day lives as well. The rumor passing is just one way of accessing that crappy energy for them. They tell the Universe, by these actions, that they like being upset, and so the Universe provides. You don't have to swing the pendlum to the opposite end and turn into a bliss ninny. Check out the rumors, there are three websites that do an awesome job of things (snopes, urban legends and truth or fiction), then if it is true...pass it on! When it isn't, return it to all on the sender's list, and if you saw it on Facebook, post the link showing it is false. Be a responsible citizen of the universe, not a Chicken Little.

When an email arrives that is delivering bad news to the masses, it is probably FALSE!!!
Have the courage to speak up and say so, and at least CHECK IT OUT BEFORE SENDING IT OUT!

Stop adding hateful, negative, fearful energy to this Universe. We have enough that is really there! Spread the good stuff, and stop spreading the untrue energy. Show the Universe we want TRUTH in our in boxes, not lies.
